Once again, many of the quotes can somehow be very relatable to my situation. Sometimes they motivate, sometimes they advise, and sometimes they can also poke me in the head. I like reading this book one page per day just to see what the book is going to do today.

What a perfect description of what's currently happening in this world.

I've found some inspirations from this book. Some quotes can even fit perfectly into my bullet journal. The February chapter has only 28 days, though, while it's a leap year, but that's alright. You can even find some interesting quotes in the introductory passage for each month.

Decided to read "Wonder" after watching the movie last night, which led to the discovery of this book. Casually checked it out only to find the precept of January 7 is about birth and self-discovery. So I read further until January 17. This precepts, too, describes my current circumstances almost perfectly. I guess I'm gonna keep reading one precept every day.

I'm glad everything works well for the little Hua family. Once again, I feel that the author sort of avoids bigger conflicts, but I still love how they describe children's emotions and experience.

Adorable characters, heartwarming story. Sometimes I feel the author avoids possible further conflicts (like with the water bottle incident), but perhaps it is to show the way Miaomiao's pure heart guides her and affects people around her. It's heartbreaking to read what she went through, but I'm glad to see her small improvements in every chapter.

I don't know in how many chapters we're gonna see Miaomiao's childhood, but I enjoy every one of them. This author is indeed very good at portraying children's antics and innocence. It's gonna be a slow process, but it feels like I'm growing up along with these children. Well, sometimes the diction doesn't match their age imho (except for Zhou Yuan), but I guess that's an issue with the translation, not the story.

I love the kids' adorable, pure friendship. I just hope that they will keep taking care of each other. Well, this is a good novel. Even the conflict and drama are realistic, and perhaps even relatable. Still, is it just me or the author likes to jump from one point to the other in their narration? It may be the translation, but sometimes I have to figure out how certain parts can relate to an entire chapter.

This novel has the most empathetic kids, the most understanding teachers, and the most supporting parents. I love everyone in this novel. Now that we've seen some serious issues in the Hua family, I wonder what Miaomiao would do. Gosh, this novel has a way to affect my emotions!

I love everything about this book. I love how the author can combine drama, melancholy, and comedy in such a realistic way. I love how every character is portrayed genuinely and purely. And I certainly love the kids. Gosh, they're so witty and creative!

Such a cute story. The slow pace makes me sleepy after reading only a little bit of the book, but I think this author will once again amaze me with their storytelling style. I have a feeling that I'm gonna love all of the characters in this book.

Now I remember why I felt uneasy about this book. It's the excerpt in the previous one. The worms, or snakes, or whatever they are. Apart from that, the story is getting realistic. I still like Mary and John the best, because all Sam and Astrid do is being lovey-dovey (not that I can blame them). The death and disgusting creatures in the beginning is enough to draw my attention. Stepping out is a big issue too here..

I must try to remember who Hermione is. I remember her name being mentioned in the previous book... who is she? Haha. Another thing, unlike its predecessors, this book clearly shows the chaos happened in London. I didn't get the chaotic image in the previous books, because all I could imagine is the chaos underground. Now I know the Topsoil is clearly affected. Hmm...

I must write something before going on to the third part. After the slightly boring first part, the second part is the cure, because it apparently has one thing I like beside history and the imagination of excavation: underground community. This is like my childhood fantasy. Now, we know a little bit about Dr. Burrows and Rebecca, but Will still have to figure out the way out of the place... probably without Chester.

History, excavation, mystery. A little bit boring in terms of the narration and I don't find any characters lovable nor memorable, but I guess the mystery catch my attention a little bit. Where is Dr. Burrows? Who are the men-in-a-hat? What is that eyeless rat? Now I think this book is like a review book of the earth science lessons. Haha...

Yes, back again with Thomas (Stephen) and his gang! Well, he and Teresa must be super smart to talk like adults (at least I think he does). Every mystery from the other books seem to unravel here, slowly. Thomas has met Teresa and Minho, and taken a short glimpse of Newt. He and Teresa are heading to the Maze now. Let's see what happens next...

Not my preferred style of writing, but after I read the book to my cat (yes, it's true), I finally can follow the story and find the enjoyment of the story. The story is kind of bland to my taste, but as I read the seventh and eight chapter, I feel the need to continue the story until the end.

It's kinda slow, but it's getting intense. The Coates kids' practiced convoy really sounds like coming out from some kind of shoujo anime to me, so now everything is Japanese animated cartoon in my head, complete with all the exaggerated sound and visual effects. : D Then I suddenly realized two things: they are middle-schoolers (!) and the counting down time in the beginning of every chapter isn't there for nothing.

It was kinda flat at first and I planned to stop reading soon the chapter ends. But then I realized I had passed the fifth chapter, then eight, and I suddenly had passed the tenth chapter. I only had to stop because I really needed a bathroom. Haha.

Okay, I didn't want to write this before, but now I think I have to. Up to now, I'm surprised and pissed of at the same time. First of all... Yang Kang! Ugh, I don't want to make a spoiler, but this is just too much... Okay, stop. Then, the appearance of the next "enemy"... Oh, what other surprises are you gonna give me with this book, Mr. Jin Yong?

Alhamdulillah, I'm finally able to continue reading this book... and I instantly got surprised by a sudden death! I've expected this to happen (since I stumbled upon a spoiler one day), but still, this is too soon. I don't know how he did it, but Jin Yong can really make every character alive! I've been laughing and crying with Guo Jing and Huang Rong, in their journey to maturity. Let's hope for a better future...

Okay, I need more time to finish the third volume as school has started. The cliffhanger in the very end makes me a bit restless. Haha. The whole story seems more like and RPG to me, especially in the last part of the volume. Guo Jing never stops giving me surprises! Ah, Yang Kang as well... Can't stop reading this. Gotta read the next volume...

Finished the second volume yesterday and started reading the third this morning. The second volume is full of drama, but I think the drama is needed to show Guo Jing's personality development. I thought his affair with Huang Rong would reach its end in the second volume, but well, I must keep reminding myself that this novel is full of surprises. Even the beginning of the third chapter has stirred my emotion badly!!!

Currently reading the second volume since Monday. The "drama" in this volume feels more vivid, but luckily it's not a cheesy one. I never expected that there would be a harem in this book, but well, it's not over yet. Let's see what would happen to the two couples. I wonder how is the Mongolian Princess doing...
