Good. I think she could have written about the event in less detail. And yet, I will purchase another book about this era in history, and I have already bought another of Tuchman's books.

"Mansfield Park" was wonderful. But then I always love Austen.

I finished "Lovers Vows". The play might have been thought good in 1798 when it was written. In 2014 it's dull.

Finished Gillie's "Preface To Austen" , and.am now reading "Mansfield Park". I am struck by how much clearer my understanding of Jane Austen' writing is because of Gillie,s book. If you want to fully understand Austen, Gillie's book is for you.

Really a good book. Might be thought a little dry by some, but after reading several of Austen's novels , I think Gillie explains how Austen used her literary background and personal views to write her books. Worthwhile for anyone who wants to read and study Jane Austen.
