Allison Thurman is 70% done with Powers of Darkness: The Lost Version of Dracula
The translation seemed to follow the original almost word for word...right up to this point. Then both the translation and the story veered off. I'm unsure that this is inherently a bad thing yet.

Alas, the library wanted it back before I could finish. What I read was intriguing though...

Love the concept, but got bogged down in book 3. May return to this at a later date

Always fun to read variations on a favorite. I think this author had a lot of fun with it ;)

Allison Thurman is on page 250 of 512 of The Bloodletter's Daughter
Got this on a Kindle sale because the time/place it takes place is similar to that of my own WIP. Enjoying quite well so far - rich characterization, good suspense, a bit of supernatural horror.

My crash course in alchemical history, because it's a huge, nuanced subject. Page # approximate as I'm reading on Kindle.

Allison Thurman is reading The Haunting of Hill House
I appear to be writing a novel with elements of ambitious psychological horror, so I thought I ought to read what else has been done in that vein. Liking it so far - the protagonist's neuroses serve to create the atmosphere as much as Hill House itself does.
