Lowkey I hate the romance with Fitz and Molly. I feel like it started so sudden, I don't see why she likes him romantically, and they both have these moments of immaturity (which is fine - but it doesn't make me like them more). Also Regal scheming would be more interesting if he felt like a full person/character and not like he was created to JUST be an antagonist of sorts

I’m making progress in writing so I’m not reading as much but damn. I’m like - not getting quite the level that was advertised on this book

Bc we really only follow Fitz’s POV, I really do not get the romance with him and Molly. Like I’m not against it - but I don’t see why it’s mutual either.

Aaaaaa new ally! Love new characters in this series. Sorta surprised though that Lu is so minor though

I think I'm realizing an "issue" I have with this book/series so far is that it - be it the writing style or the actual narrative/details - does not give me nearly enough to where I care about whether the other characters succeed. Like, Fitz is the main character so I want him to have success. But do I really care about Verity? What makes the 6 Duchies worth rooting for?

Sort of vibing with this a bit more than expected (which is good) - bc the way I was vibing at the end of Apprentice was very meh. Like, I could understand who was meant to be his fatherly type figures but I didn't feel like I really got to see fun/interesting interactions. This one has started off stronger - especially with Patience

Gotta say, some of these memoirs that I've read really do NOT make the LDS look great

Oh huh. I sort of forget he was on Nick. And him being friends with Jennette Mccurdy is pretty interesting

Wow his dad sorta sucks. I didn't realize he started singing on TV at such a young age

I wonder how this and his 2010 book differ. It's possible I'll go back for it - but I have a feeling I'll find this a "better" read

Making my way through this slow and steady ngl. Things are getting more interesting thankfully. Reading yesterday was hard bc I was so tired but today was better

I don't love that I've already lost track of how old Fitz is but I'm assuming he's low double digits at most given that he's 6 when the story starts

I'm not super sure how I feel about reading the sequels but I'm enjoying this quite a bit? I think I was also confusing this initially with another classic sci-fi dystopia bc I swore this was in space for some reason. Maybe I'm thinking there was a crossover with the actor who plays the main character

I'm really on a roll and I'm almost caught up to the last volume so I really gotta pace myself. I might end up picking up a different manga series just to draw things out

Second- XD that's hilarious but very helpful that the second chapter in this volume literally gives us a diagram of where everyone is

On one hand, I'm not really digging this - but on the other hand, I do really enjoy the general premise

Gonna read the previews and count it toward my reading goal since there's about 150-ish pages of content. BUT no rating since this is technically TBD on being canon/not fully released

I got side tracked and didn't get very far in between work stuff.

I'm at the point where ALL the POV chapters I look forward to the most are basically done. I think what makes this book not hold as strong for me is that there's no more content after this - like there are the preview chapters of Winds but I think those aren't 100% solidified as canon + it's not a full book anyhow

God, it's not to say there are parts of this book that are unessential - but there are just parts of this book that are so heavy and not very actionable that has me mildly bored and done. I really think AFFC and ADWD was not divided in the way that would be most entertaining - even if it's geographically split correctly, which lowkey I don't totally get but I've never looked at the maps long tbh

Omg this book definitely causes a bit of boredom, given my tastes/preferences. I think some of these POVs should've been put into Crows
