Topping off the last memoir with this one. I was actually going to tackle this one first but I was seeing more online about the Gosselin's so I read that one first

Omg only really read the preface and I've been seeing some videos again about him/their family and I just know that this book is going to be a little crazy - how stuff like this was protected by TLC

Eh it's just OK. I don't really think that the bits in the past really add to the story tbh - at least not yet but the book is over half over so I sorta am skeptical whether that will change in 100 pages

The older English comes off a bit weird (?) - I'm not sure how "accurate" it is but the story is fine so far. Been really busy

Uhhh pause - I feel like this personality/ambition of the doctor is sort of ridiculous. If he wasn't written originally as being pretty normal and sort of timid, I would be less turned off from this book. Also if Eli becomes revived, I feel like that's really weird. Like why would no one burn his body from the last time?

I really have a love/hate with how many characters, POVs, AND timeline shifts there are throughout this series. I wish, at least, it was slightly more linear or a tighter experience. I think I did a way better job at reading the timelines in the previous books - also there was less going on so it was just easier in general to keep track

Lowkey sad that I'm not loving this series as much as when I started it - but I'm hopeful for a decent/not drawn out (hopefully) series ending

If this was in paperback, I'd probably buy it - but seems like hardcover is the way to go so we're doing digital for now. Also? I didn't love the other book as much on the re-read so we'll see what happens with my collection here

OK about 100 pages left and I'm still enjoying this but I'm also mildly burnt out honestly. It's kinda like - when/how is this going to end? The book is super character driven and they have goals but I'm not sure what will be the Big Moment that warrants the end of story

OMG this freaking lady. "Women don't have a high opinion of me." Well maybe that's bc you suck!

Truly what the hell does June even see in Syd? I feel like we skipped why they're "friends" - & I also just don't care for the new characters. I think Stell realizing Victor is alive would've been enough. Like, the only reason imo why the book is as long as it is, is bc of the new characters - but I don't think they're really adding to the story THAT much. Between Eli's background & Victor, it would've been enough

I almost forgot how much I didn't like (early) Momo + I love Izuru though. One of, if not my favorite lieutenant after reading the entire series

OK I might be breaking from this book. Had a lot more reading time with work being slow but this book is so long I might actually be getting a tiny bit burnt out. I still mostly love it though

Forgot to update - Still mostly wishing this was Victor vs Eli but I get adding at least one new antagonist. I don't love June - and there's a lot more bouncing back and forth between timelines and POVs in this one than the last book. Makes me wonder how book 3 is going to fare, but I'll have to get to the end to remember whether all the characters make it out in the end

This book did what Pachinko did which I didn't love - basically a character loss and the book just continues. Not that I want to read people wallowing in grief for 100 pages, but it is interesting how Lee keeps the plot moving along so soon. But I think she does describe the characters aging well

Gosh, with the exception of John all the adult men in this book and maybeee the Chairman are horrible husbands/fathers/partners. I love the way the book flows though

Loving this book. My only (not serious) complaint is that Yun's bf's name is Lion.

Got a decent amount through. I'm not super into June and Marcella - although their powers ARE cool

Omg I wish this was originally released in paperback bc I'm really enjoying this. This is coming along so much better than Free Food for Millionaires imo. That book was just sort of OK/not my favorite and I loved Pachinko. I'm probably gonna put more of this on hold and go back to Vengeful

My "at work" read

Didn't get very far yesterday. I meant to pick it up again and then I just ended up sitting with it on the couch OTL - but at least this means I am actually (probably) done with my September reads. I'm so READY for October
