Well told biography of the Hurricane Giraffes and their journey by truck from New York to San Diego in 1938. An old man, a dust bowl adolescent, an ambitious redhead female photographer and Boy and Girl (the giraffes) perilous and heartwarming adventures. Feel the grit and despair of the depression, the dishonesty and the kindness of the people and how love of animals shapes the future of the characters.

Cute story but too graphic for me.

I enjoyed how the viewpoint of events by Mary, Queen of Scott’s, George the person charged by Queen Elizabeth to house her and her court and his wife Bess combined to tell the story. Dialogue was beautiful and suited each character, organization and unfolding of plot was skillful and entertaining. Even with only a rudimentary knowledge of the period history, it was fascinating.

Interesting look at Churchill in the first year of WWII, his family and personal as well as political events.

Fun story

A touching description of the impact and life changing c of a young woman’s as a nurse in the US Army in Vietnam

Crime thriller with interesting twist was well written with plenty of suspense. The most delightful part was the relationship and love between Gayle and his sister Layla

Another delightful mystery with the Scones Bookclub group. The best part of the book is how the members of the club know and help each 4. They dilemmas and challenges but they support each other and are “are the night angels for the town. Romance is nice and fun to see relationships evolve over the course of the books!

Entertaining story of 60 year old finding an activity she really likes to fill her time. I want to be a spy she says to CIA human resources.

Fast paced crime drama that makes good use of the treacherous climate of the far north in the plot. interaction's of Katie and LaBlanc create added interest as their partnership develops.

Excellent telling of true story!

okay adventure story, some likable repeat characters but fantastical plot

Well written and presented story of the Wright brothers dedication to flying, to their brilliance and skill in solving problems and their adventures and challenges in seeing production of their aircraft.

Good character development and interesting plot. So many characters that sometimes lost the plot line.

The Secret Book and Scone Society is my favorite series by Ellery Adams. It was nice to have the warmth and caring friendships carry each other thru new dilemmas and murder solutions.

Fanciful children’s book with adult and young adult messages.

A well written romance novel about the Irish potato famine. After completing I read a historical account of the event called “Voyage of Mercy”. Together these books helped me understand more about my Irish ancestors, one of whom emigrated from Ireland in 1851 just after the worst years of 1847 and 1848.

Good characters and interesting plot

Delightful book about a group of women who help a young girl and solve mysteries of her life and murders that follow her. Characters are richly described and you want to be a member of their secret book and scone society. I even took a break from reading to bake cranberry and pistachio cream scones. Definitely going to read other books in the series.
