Pamela is starting Hope Beyond Cure
This is an excellent book for anyone who’s been told they have an incurable and deadly disease. It is equally helpful for caregivers who want to understand what goes though the minds of those they care for. He has successfully put into words the hope we have in Jesus. He sings to the hurting in a very real way, in Psalms, gyms and spiritual songs. It’s the best and most encouraging book I’ve read on topic.

Pamela is starting More Than a Healer: Not the Jesus You Want, but the Jesus You Need
In the Christian community their are many cessationists, and continuationism comes in many varieties. As one who believes that God can and does heal people as he wills today, I enjoy Costi Hinn’s view of keeping the most important things as the emphasis of the gospel and healing, though present, not the emphasis. I am almost halfway through the book. I am thoroughly enjoying it and recommend it.

Pamela is starting Praying Through Cancer: Set Your Heart Free from Fear: A 90-Day Devotional for Women
This came highly recommended from a few different sources, so I had high hopes that it would resonate with me. I should have remembered that I am not usually fond of devotionals. I generally enjoy depth of thoughts on topics. I do enjoy first hand biographical accounts, so I hoped this would inspire. I wanted to love it but it’s not my cup of tea. I’m not sure I’ll complete it.

Pamela is starting A Tale of Three Kings: A Study in Brokenness (Biblical Fiction Based on the Stories of David, Saul, and Absalom)
I am leading a Precept study of 1 Samuel with my family and a group of my daughters teenage friends. Having read, A Tale of Three Kings, many years ago as a new believer and young adult, I have fond memories of it. It will be interesting to see if I enjoy it as much this time around and equally as interesting to hear my families thoughts on these topics.

Pamela is starting The Secret of the Swamp (Scout, #1)
My 11 year old reluctant reader and I are taking turns reading this aloud. So far, it's a tremendous hit!

Pamela is starting This Present Darkness (Darkness, #1)
I needed a new audio book. Haven't read this one for many years. Looking forward to seeing if I enjoy it as much this time around.

Pamela is 50% done with My Name Is Mahtob: The Story that Began the Global Phenomenon Not Without My Daughter Continues
I was familiar with this story because I watched the movie, Not Without my Daughter, many years ago. This book, being from the daughters perspective, promised interesting new insight. I enjoyed it at first but it seems now to be dragging on too long. I am listening to it as an audio book.
