finals almost over so i can finally read some fiction :’) i wonder how capable i am of catching up with my goal for the year…

bought this as a Christmas present to someone but decided to read it before exchanging lol

for my Myth, Ritual, & Mysticism mini-term course
so far it’s been interesting & accessible but poorly formatted which makes it harder to engage with

10 books behind schedule for my reading goal this year 💔 & now all i have time for is academic reading 🥲

i’m 6 books behind my reading schedule & facing the worst slump i’ve had in years :’) the numbers truly mean nothing to me but i am DYING to read & feel so incapable of it rn & hope this passes soon

i know i’m currently reading 12 different books don’t @ me

hoping to finish this today so i can give it to a friend tmrw :)

does a senile old woman having a lucid moment & telling a story make sense? sure
is it good storytelling? no, no it was not…
like i would have much rather found all this information out throughout the course of the story somehow instead of being burdened with it all in one shot

no way she read that much true crime & is that stupid… i’ll chalk it up to vampire charm i guess lol

exposition was a little heavy handed— a lot of telling not enough showing but i think the inciting incident was done well & the style/tone has shifted a bit now to one i enjoy more

our first read for book club ! :’)
