I am 4mins away from the end and… I still don’t understand what I read.

I. Am. STRUGGLING!

Picked this up after reading Strikeout which was fucking amazing, by the way. But, this book, this couple, I don’t know. No los entiendo, no me caen, la tensión esta frágil.

Gonna give it another couple of pages before I DNF.

(This being closed doors was unexpected)

I feel like this could have been a shorter book. There’s just so much that feels unnecessary

This story is making me feel so tired.

Maybe, I made a mistake listening to this instead of reading it myself…

My audiobook listening speed is 2x and it still feels like this book is taking for-fucking-ever!

So much telling, not enough showing.

If purple prose is meant to be used to detract from a story, why use it in a story you want your readers engaged in?

I think I might just call it quits. This is just irritatingly flowery and at the same time boring.

8% in and I’ve gasped and cried.

This one is gonna scar.

Taboo and forbidden are usually genres that I devour quickly but this story, it’s just tons of big ick factors with Uncle Kristian. He is making EVERYTHING cringe and slimy.

Theres a lot to say and I’ve got nothing…

I have spent 99% of this book wondering what the fuck is happening and not because of some level of suspense or mystery but because WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING WITH THESE CHARACTERS THAT MAKE NO DAMN SENSE!

I should quit, I should DNF

This story is just dragging… I’m about to DNF

Okay, I’m not hopping off the Jessa Kane wagon quite yet…

Fucking hell, my heart is lodged in my throat.

I fucking dislike Jonathan, but the boy has a point

… I was a little concerned when everything was going good, too good for a Sam Mariano book. And WHAM! I got smacked with a twist I should have seen coming and didn’t. What the fuck?! It’s 1am, I work in a few hours, I need to sleep. I won’t sleep until I finish this because WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!!!!!!

Ah, the misunderstanding trope…

This book is predictable, don’t get me wrong it’s good so far but, I can see what’s gonna happen because it’s dressed in red and with flashing lights saying “here I come!”

Somebody shoot Cal, he’s a stale bag of pretzels

I don’t know where this is going but it’s getting repetitive

This book has been painful.

The internal monologues, introspection, I want to finish this series because I own the books but at this point I’m ready to throw this book in the trash based solely on Mares ability, POOR abilities of analyzing every character, the authors frustrating way of having Mare describe every single character in the most unnecessary way.

Where the hell is the action? This one is all talk

First book was good and I hesitated TWO YEARS to read this one and I want to fucking quit!

This is DRAGGING.

Mare is irritating, Maven is narcissistically gross, Cal is just lackluster, like where are the characters from book one?!

Guys, I don’t know about this one… I’m struggling. And my struggle isn’t because the writing is bad, Sam Mariano knows how to write a story. I just don’t know that I can get on board with the villain. Dude is not growing on me at all, it’s very inconvenient.
