Good start so far.

I was really looking forward to this book but he’s giving me the ick.

Ok I told myself I was finally going to finish this one, and I have. Review to come.

He’s so cute even if he didn’t realize kidnapping is wrong at first.

Ok, back after a 3 year break. Going to make myself finish it this time. At least I jumped back in at the carriages sex scene.
A good carriage sex is few and far between.
I don’t recall why they were having a Christmas party though.

Automatic extra star for being in Portland and taking place at Clackamas Town Center. Grew up going there so I know it well even though this book is nearly 40 years old. The skating rink is long gone but I can still picture it in my head and the Meyer & Frank across from it she was shopping in.

I am a little weirded out by their age difference back when she was TEN!!! and was 14. Even 17 and 21 is icky.

Not as enjoyable as the previous book. It’s probably in line with the first book in the series except I’m not loving Bex.

I’m not sure I like Bex. She was hurtful to him off the bat, then she sort of kind of maybe tries to apologize, on,y to turn around and be an ass.

These two MC are already way more developed than the two from the previous book. And they’re much funnier.

Timeline note: they’ve been at the beach for 5 years.

I feel like the books in this series are being released too far apart. There are details in this book referencing back pretty far and I don’t remember enough from when I read the other books.
It seems like a reread of Flor’s Fiasco is maybe needed before reading this book.
It’s kind of disappointing that I’m not able to just get sucked into this book.

At this point in the book he knows enough English to stop speaking in third person and use “I” or “we” ect., and get Dixon is still writing him very innocently, and not in a good way.
I don’t even want to read the sex scenes, they feel inappropriate in a way.

Murh is written with BSY (born sexy yesterday) vibes and it’s kind of icky, we typically see BSY with female characters in books or movies, we don’t typically see it with male characters. I don’t find the infantilization of romance characters sexy. Make it female. So I’m kind of disappointed in this.

Ok reading a bit more. A know a lot of people DNF this book, but I’m determined to finish it.

I’m enjoying this, i just need to make myself sit down and read it.
