I did not expect to be obsessed like this.

I fear I have become a mafia romance girl. This is unputdownable.

Listen, I love Stark, and the steamy scenes are very spicy, but consent can be conveyed without actually using the word. Consent is obviously important, but let it be understood through the interaction between characters. Every time I hear the word “consent” it pulls me out of the story immediately. It’s too clunky and awkward and it’s ruining these scenes.

Wow, there is a LOT of stuff happening. I feel a little overwhelmed.

I’m trying really hard not to be too critical or mentally tick off all the tropes we are hitting (one horse, “who did this to you?” [coming from HER made is cringy; coming from HIM would’ve had me melting], and a few others that don’t come to mind). I’m a vibes reader but sometimes I find myself cringing.

HOWEVER. Gabriel Michael’s narration is so delicious it makes my toes curl. 20/10, no notes.

“Festering misogyny” made me roll my eyes so hard I think I passed out. Can we just not?

I don’t know if I’m falling for Stark or just Gabriel’s voice but I’m not questioning it, I’m just here, yearning.

Immersive reading because I have the beautiful hardcover BUT Gabriel Michael’s voice is so delicious that I have to do the audio. My gosh, this man’s voice… 💙

Omg, ANOTHER Emonie POV?? I get she’s doing things that are crucial to the story but omg. She better not partner up with Ryatt.

HOLY CRAP!! I’m finally on the edge of my seat with this book.

I knew not everyone would make it, but JUDD???? Freaking cruel and uncalled for!!

Status update: Emonie is still a useless, stupid idiot child whose storyline I don’t care about. First time I’ve listened to a book at 1.5x speed just to get through her chapter. Yawn.

Just when things start getting really good…we go back to Emonie’s POV. Why? Six books into a series is not the time to introduce quirky new characters that we’re supposed to care about.

Oh goodie, Emonie gets her own chapter. Do not care. And more stuff about Wick, and I don’t really care about that either.

The reunion chapter was pretty satisfying, at least.

I loved the tension and yearning in Between Tides & Thunder but to see the other side of the story from Zevayr’s (TERRIBLE name but I will overlook it because I love him) side and how he has pined for her all along is DELICIOUSSSSS. And now the flip side where she is trying to earn back his trust.. I’m eating it up.
