I just finished the story “Emma Goldman Takes Tea with the Baba Yaga.” So brilliant.

Wow! Jane Yolen has written one of the best Forewords I have ever read!

So many amazing moments, like this one at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012: "I performed 'Slave to the Rhythm,' which some might have considered a discreet commentary on the slave trade of the British Empire, wearing a barely there Eiko Ishioka costume that let my bare legs do a lot of the talking and gave me plenty of space to show off my hula-hooping and challenge people about my age."

The first story, "The Summer People" knocked my socks off. I'm ready for more.

I have to take this back to the library and I don't want to! It's SO GOOD.

The Da Vinci Code meets Goddess culture? High hopes for this one.

Allen is in India now. Wow. This section is really intense. He is watching bodies burn in the funeral pyres by the Ganges.

This book is amazing, but I've just gotten to the torture/interrogation scenes. I'm going to try and stick it out, because I love the rest.

Her words and stories resonate so deeply with me.
