This is my first Robert Galbraith novel, spurred on by the JKR controversy and I am enjoying it. I started with the audio version but found it difficult to follow. I find the chapters of cyber threads which run concurrently intriguing. These ‘conversations’ between the moderators of (Ink Black Heart), the developers and a third pair may hold the key to the murder of Eddie.

Dianne is finished with Love in a Cold Climate: The wickedly funny sequel to The Pursuit of Love
I really enjoyed this light entertaining novel, which I first read in the 1950s. Set in Britain in the 30s it gives an insight into the upper classes, in particular the life of young debutantes and their mothers, the search for love, partners and happiness. Nancy Mitford based her characters on relatives and acquaintances, the OTT Cedric Hardwicke being conflation of two of her friends.

I watched the TV series when it was shown, and following a comment by a reviewer decided to read this, the 4th in the quartet, first. Half way through I decided to start from the beginning, and read The Jewel in the Crown. I am now reading The Day of the Scorpion.

Dianne is reading The Poems of Gerard Manley Hopkins
I was introduced to his poems while studying with the OU. I find his language rich and his sprung rhythms satisfying. A book to dip into rather than read from cover to cover.

Fascinating. Just reading about the extension of Madrassas into NE Pakistan. Very relevant to current events.
