The way Szerb writes about pre-war Italy and the passivity of the average Italian is really, really interesting. I had skipped the introduction, but see the same thing caught the attention of the introduction’s writer. Entire books should be devoted to dissecting this paragraph.

In need of help. I have a vague recollection of reading a book involving an older male character who took multiple baths a day. Not one or two, but upwards of a dozen. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
