In need of help. I have a vague recollection of reading a book involving an older male character who took multiple baths a day. Not one or two, but upwards of a dozen. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Definitely not Marat. This was more of a comical thing where the character just really loved baths. It had a more modern setting and he was a rich businessman or something.
A number of books featuring Jean-Paul Marat as a character. He suffered from a condition which required him to bathe constantly.
I suspect that there may be other characters in other books that have a similar afflicition, whether modeled on Marat or not.
The most notable book featuring Marat repeatedly in the bath is the play Marat/Sade by Peter Weiss.
