Rereading this book. I have come to realize that much of the book is an examination on feminism, what it means to be a woman in the world from a variety of backgrounds, and the many different ways women may approach their lives in a world of adversity and misogyny. It shows the naive young woman, the strong matriarch, the woman who just wants to go along and be sweet, the business woman, the ship, and puberty.

Noooooooooooooooo!!!!! I got Lightbringered!!!!!! I mean it’s still good but like a little on the damn nose.

Please please please please please don’t Lightbringer me!!!!!!!! Not after we’ve been through so much!

I looked up and I’m half way through! I can’t believe it, I thought I was plodding along. Man, these are good.

1. I’ve already recommended this book to people and I haven’t finished it, I never do that. 2. The lawyer in me and my fascination with linguists make this book such a treat. Yesssss break down some sentence structure and grammatical choices.

I’ve been listening to this on Spotify and ran out of hours of listening. So far, it’s been pretty interesting, and, it’s been getting more gruesome (which it’s weird to say that I like).

I want to do a reread before the next, I really do, but I just don’t know if I love these enough to do a third. Like, I think the last Mistborn-Wax and Wayne book may have turned me off because of the very Marvel-Multiverse feel of it all. It’s a bit tedious. I hope book 5 revives my faith in Brandon Sanderson.

I am feeling a little fatigued by this story. I find engineering descriptions boring. The first two were good but this has been a bit of a slog for me. I find myself wanting to listen to podcasts instead so I might be putting this down for a while.

Okay that reread was totally worth it because I was so lost when I started this the first time. (Especially after just finishing Malazan.)

Couldn’t remember enough of the story to read defiant. So, time to go back.

I really just wish he had any name other than Xaden. Like, Bob would be better.

I feel like the internet made me do it, but it's too late to stop now. If I can suffer through ACOTAR, you find out what all the fuss is about too.

I'm calling it. DNF.

I don't know how an interesting book can be so uninteresting. You know, I read the Raksura books and ended up dropping that series for lack of interest in the overall story. I think I might have to agree with some other reviewers. I might finish it but my interest has waned. I'm listening to the story and have barely grasped what's going on, not a good start, I'm afraid.

I picked it up and have been surprisingly captivated by Karsa Orlong and now the new Torvold Nom. Way more interested than the Witch King. Sorry Witch King... you're moving rapidly to the DNF pile, I'm sorry to say.

The examination of the data and experiments supporting the Author’s conclusion on UPF is lacking and superficial. He seems to exam their veracity if only competing views. Also, listening to it, the sound quality for the “interview” interlude is atrocious.

I relate to the male lead, but also this book is so cutesy cheezy. I'm not even mad tho. This book could be finished in a day, but I think it lulled a bit perhaps at 20-30% mark. Or it wasn't enough to compete with Aiduel's Sin, I can't decide. I'll finish this, this evening.
