This audiobook narrator is brutal

Gosh this is kinda a tough read - an important read but just kinda weighing heavily. Come Holy Spirit!

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I am only making it through by reading sparknotes summaries of each chapter I finish lol

25% in and I feel like I’m finally somewhat getting my footing? Kinda meandering beginning 🫣

I just don’t care about these characters enough for this to be 33 hours longggg but I know I’m in the minority

This book is fantastic.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book as gut wrenching as this one is from the get-go………. Especially as a mom.

Okay I just read this a couple months ago but feel like I didn’t listen as attentively as I could’ve/wanted to listen again to read Huck Finn next and then FINALLY James.

So far, not loving some of the language but intrigued to see women in crisis supporting women in crisis. It could very easily swerve into DNF territory though.. we shall see!
