ok i'm enjoying the audiobook heaps, but why does the narrator give all the women lower voices than the men!?!?

sheesh this is true fey fairyland, all the modern oh-so-edgy-fey books, even Holly Black doesn't come near this! but cos it's disguised in fairytale language no-one remembers it...

this book is HILARIOUS and totally classic chicklit, can't believe it's from 1926

i was thinking it was odd Oscar Wilde was writing fairytales but I'd completely forgotten he wrote The Happy Prince! (which I really like)
