The church’s great news to a dying world is that there is a loving God, whose love for his creation is inexhaustible.

We believe the church is sent into the world to witness to Jesus by proclaiming the gospel and making disciples of all nations.

Paul, like Peter, sees election as a motivation for sanctification. How does election bear such fruit? What is the gospel's logic here? It is a first principle of the gospel that unless God had set his love upon us long before we turned to him we would never have come to Christ. His choice of us preceded our choice of him. He loved us before we loved him.

The gospel is not only about our salvation. The gospel is how we live every day.

We are not justified on the basis of our sanctification; yet justification never takes place without sanctification beginning. As John Calvin so well put it, they belong together because Christ was given to us for both. To separate them would be 'to tend Him asunder'.

As you face life with all its trials do not lose sight of who you are and what you are for. Be clear about this and you will make progress. Forget this and you will flounder and fall.

Holiness is the intensity of the love that flows within the very being of God, among and between each of the three persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

“When my origins are certain in God, the implication is strong that my future is also certain in him, and those certainties provide the conditions that encourage me to live by faith in the present. If, via the story, I can experience what it means to be taken serious, and, via the genealogy, can find that my life is part of the story of salvation, I can live with confidence.”

In Lamentations, we do not find suffering persons "expressing themselves" making beautiful art out of a horrible experience. The laments are a search for redemption roots in the devastation of judgement.

“…not only is complaint tolerated by God, but it can even be the proper stance of a person who takes God seriously! Anyone who ascribes full sovereignty to a just and merciful God may expect to encounter the problem of theodicy, and to wrestle with that problem is no sin, even when it leads to an attempt to put God on trial. Petulant Jonah, earnest Jeremiah, persistent Job-Naomi stands in the company.”
