Some shenanigans are happening on this Eaglestar SkyDome city where people are mind-controlled. Sam, Falcon and Josiah X team up to confront Mason and a Red Hulk.

This could have been a tie-up with the recent Cap movie, but not really. The Red Hulk adversary here is not the Thunderbolt Hulk I know. 😅😂

The main take away from this story is that we have a new black Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, She-Hulk subs the Thing in the FF, new female villains Titania and Volcana were created. We never saw the Beyonder until the sequel Secret Wars 2. I would have gone bonkers to read this as a kid.

Finale to the secret war arc that pitted the Marvel superheroes against their super villains counterparts in a discrete battle royale in space. This crossover event was not unheard of before. I think this was the first major event of its kind that Marvel annually published thereafter. It seemed to have been accidentally prompted by the campaign to sell toys.

Doom has somehow conquered Beyonder & sequestered his god-like power. Cap suspects some evil scheme behind his serene machinations. He calls all the heroes to confront Doom. But before they could act, they were all zapped!
A comment on the quality of the series. It has not aged well for me. This comic had looked astoundingly impressive to me as a kid. Now, Shooter's script reads corny & Mike Zeck's art looks rushed!

Doom has found a way to circumvent the Beyonder despite his struggles...

The superheroes attempt to attack Galactus who is preparing his world ship to devour Battleworld. Doom has some plan of his own ..

The supervillains are defeated. The Wasp is alive after all! And then the first appearance of Spidey's black symbiote suit! And Galactus moves in to devour Battleworld...

First appearance of an all-new black costumed Spider-woman! The Wasp is apparently killed. The Avengers clamor for death to be avenged, but Cap dissuades them. Meanwhile, Molecule Man, who supports a similar costume as the Wasp, is also immobilized. Doom attempts to sneak on Galactus but is forcibly ejected. She-Hulk attacks the villain on her own...

The Wasp stumbles upon the Lizard. They team up. Klaw appears when Doom unwittingly revives him. The X-Men independently engages the villains...

The X-Men enters the fray to even up the odds for the superheroes. They are coordinated single-mindly, independent from the other superheroes, by Xavier and Magneto to the point of leaving a wounded Colossus behind. Meanwhile, Galactus and Dr. Doom have separate plans of their own...

The Molecule Man drops a mountain on the retreating heroes. The Hulk barely holds this billion ton lump of land. They somehow escape through Mr. Fantastic fashioning a makeshift device to power up Iron man. Meanwhile, it is revealed that the Wasp was only playing along with Magneto to find out his plan to kill all the superheroes and villains to win Beyonder's prize. Later, Galactus moves after a long time .

Dang! The Wasp gets on with Magneto! Talk about Stockholm syndrome! Dr. Doom creates Volcana and Titania. The supervillains attack the superheroes unaware.

The skirmish between good guys vs bad guys begins in earnest. Magneto, Galactus and Dr. Doom are the prominent villains here.

This is a trip to memory lane which means so for me as a comics reader. This is a series I wished to read as a child, aside from DC's Crisis. Comics were hard to come by during my time. Now, I could read them at my leisure.
It was my first time to see all Marvel superheroes and their super villain counterparts to face off in an epic crossover event. It was the mother of all crossover events!

Miles and Rabble barge into one another in Dr. Kwan's office. They almost fight. Later, Rabble's A.I., the Assessor becomes sentient and proves to be too powerful for both Miles and Rabble. They can only escape for now...

Miles, Misty Knight, Black Cat, Inari, White Cat and their giant white fox defeat Black Obsidian. Meanwhile, Rabble consults Dr. Kwan in therapy...

The Black Cat joins Miles and Misty Knight to confront Inari and the White Cat and his giant white fox. They discover that the amateur cat burglars are forced to work for the Black Obsidian. Later, they all confront him...

Miles encounters cat burglars Inari, White Cat and their giant white fox. Miles and Misty Knight get more than they could handle. And so they call in the Black Cat!

Final epic showdown between Anansi, Spidergod and Ares! Zip Zephyr has a change of heart and he helps Miles. Later, even Ares minions turn against him and he loses the contest. Anansi later restores everything damaged in the fight and also Miles and his friends to their respective places .. A new villain appears out of the wood work- one White Cat...

Origin of Arachne, who was Anansi the Spidergod's first herald. She was killed during the ancient conflict between Anansi and Ares. This conflict is revived again. Anansi has taken Miles as his new herald to face Ares. Ares has now brought the fight in Brooklyn, NY!

Power Lift (Dr. Kwan) defeats Philomelus. Miles and Zip Zephyr are forced to cooperate to survive the Stymphalian Birds. They are declared tied in the contest.

Part 2 of the God War. Miles hastily thinks about Shift, Gust and Dr. Kwan, his psychologist to be included in his team to face Ares's team in ancient Olympus. Dr. Kwan faces off with the god Philomelus who creams her. Later, Kwan survives and is revealed to be a superhuman called Power Lift!

Ares frees Zip Zephyr from the Raft prison to kill Miles. They engage in battle. Thor and Hercules appear to aid Miles at the bequest of Anansi, the Spidergod. Ares and Warcry appear next. He proposes a Tournament of the gods, in which Miles is Anansi's champion...

Conclusion to the Miles/ DP crossover. They defeat Agent Gao/ Warcry for now. Thor & Hercules are up next..

Miles/ DP plus company all team up to defeat Gao's henchmen Midas & Output. And then Warcry, herald of Ares joins the fray....
