Chris Claremont returns to tell another alternate reality of The Days of the Future Past tropes wherein he focuses on Rachel Summers' influence as a Phoenix Force.

Wow. This story arc mighty impressive even now. This story is so seminal that it really is the start of the time-traveling tropes that would be repeated and imitated in the decades to come as we know it. We first meet here Destiny who will turn out later to be Nightcrawler's mother. Rachel Summers also makes her appearance. Kate Pryde helped stop or stall this dystopian future.

This is one of the most memorable X-Men story arcs I've ever read. It stands out even after I saw the cartoon series & the movie version. The Brotherhood of Mutants lead by Mystique aim to assassinate Senator Kelly which will set off apocalyptic events into the future. So, the adult Katherine Pryde time travels into her young self's body to put a stop to this. And so the complicated time-traveling tropes begin here.

Alpha Flight assists Wolverine and Nightcrawler take on the Wendigo. Later, Alpha Flight is disbanded by the Canadian government due to lack of funds. The Blob also escapes prison. Up next is The Days of Future Past! 😲

Let's get back with the X-men following the Dark Phoenix saga. Cyclops had taken a keave of abscence to figure himself out. Kitty Pryde had just joined the X-Men. She is dubbed here as Sprite. 😅 Wolverine now supports his new brown costume. He decides toho back to Canada to finish some loose ends with Alpha Flight and Wendigo as it turns out. This next arc sets us up for The Days of Future Past.

This early annual features Nightcrawler and his supposed origin that was retconned much later. Nightcrawler was "killed". The X-Men and Dr. Strange journey to "Inferno" to rescue him.

The X-men and their students have escaped the threat of the Shadow King who apparently infiltrated their telepathic school of Graymatter Lane. Emma was still discussing this recent event when Withers and Blade ask to appear and ask for their aid....

Battle continues simultaneously at Ben Liu's mindscape and at the Graymatter Lane for all the X-Men...

Iceman gathers Cyclops and Emma Frost in team building activity in the hope to improve relations between them for the benefit of the Graymatter Lane telepathic school. Unfortunately, someone is sabotaging their efforts...

The X-Men have helped resolve Cap's predicament with one of the super-soldiers veteran.

Captain America approaches the X-Men to help him track survivors of the super-soldiers experiments. Laura, Melee and Jitter accompany him to the past. But they separately encounter Maurice Canfield. 😬

Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde assemble all the mutants to inagurate their Graymatter Lane school. Looks like Cyclops has something to say against t it.

Chairman, the evil Beast counterpart, have words with Magneto. He attempts to recruit Magneto for his scheme of unleashing the virulent X-Virus to convert humanity into mutants. Magneto flatly refuses. Meanwhile, Cyclops' X-men parlays with the 3M X-men, but this all proved to be just a distraction to extract DNA samples from Magneto's body fluids.
And so we head for DNX. the X-men crossover event with the FF.

We get a glimpse of Beast's then conversation with his evil self, the Chairman who he rejects him after all that happened at the Age of Revelation event. Later, Beast has a heart to heart talk with Illyana about his misgivings about it. Suddenly, they are attacked by the 3M X-Men lead by their version of Magneto. Meanwhile, the real Magneto is visited by the Beast Chairman himself. 😬

A little Juggernaut solo adventure.

The Alaskan X-Men has solved their Schwarzschild predicament just in the nick of time.

Beast injects a enhancing drug into Magneto to temporarily restore his original power. This is so he can save Dept. H two ships from crashing due to the gravitic anomaly caused by the comatose Schwarzschild. Meanwhile, Kid Omega and Ben Liu entered his mind but discovered a a big brain righed with traps ...

The X-men science team led by Beast investigate an anomaly detected by Cerebro. They find Schwarzschild of the 3K's X-men who were led by Cassandra Nova. Suddenly, Canada's Department also appeared at he scene...

Jean Grey the Phoenix joins Rogue's X-men to take on a mutant called the Creationist and stop him from wrecking havoc by tearing through the fourth wall dimension. This reminds me of DC's New Frontiers story.

Well, Cyclops' X-Men have overcome their predicament with Maxine Danger's Danger Room goons as expected.

Looks like the X-Men are almost done for courtesy of Maxine Danger and her Danger Room guys. Cyclops, Magik, Juggernaut and Beast are trapped inside a mechanical shark. Quentin and Temper stormed off to confront the local village and demand who shot Glob. While Psylocke, Xorn and Gteycrow somehow escape and now plan to infiltrate Danger Room ..

Hmmn, the X-Men are seemingly divided and defeated by Maxine Danger's Danger Room mercenaries. Well, Psylocke seem to have escaped...

We discover that ONE and the Beyond Corp are in cahoots to undermine the Alaskan X-Men. Maxine Danger has hired some assorted mercenaries to do the job in three stages: kidnap Sheriff Robbins, stage the arrest of John Greycrow and shoot Glob Herman.

Cyclops' Alaskan X-Men head out to rescue Sheriff Robbins but it was a trap waiting for them. It seems that someone assassinated Glob...!

Rogue & Gambit meet Repent, the mutant exorcist who is in the middle of an exorcism of a bound who who plays with Rogue's memory of her old flame Cody. Gambit as Wyvern defeats this demon. Repent, the mutant exorcist to then agrees to help Gambit. Meanwhile, Monet & the rest of the Louisiana X-Men storm the facility that tortured their escapee Howler.

Well, Gabriel, the devil hunter that Rogue consulted about Gambit's possession by Wyvern demon from the Left Eye of Agamotto couldn't fix it. So, they turn to a more powerful exorcist - Repent. Meanwhile, at the Haven House, Monet & the X-Men & the New Mutants Outliers encounter a terrified mutant intruder called Howler.
