S is on page 2 of 320 of Agent Storm: My Life Inside al Qaeda and the CIA
(first time finding a first-rate non-fiction spy read while tagging along with my Mother at a bargain/junk warehouse. At these prices, won't be hard to get money's worth)

S is finished with One Giant Leap: Neil Armstrong's Stellar American Journey
The wonders of manned flight and mental discipline/ toughness are masterfully painted by the author. Really enjoyed the family dimension as well, though it is sad to read about the marriage dissolution. There were some surprising typo & gramm errors.

S is reading Lions of Kandahar: The Story of a Fight Against All Odds
I loved it. Real warriors battling real enemies, real sacrifice by a subset of US armed forces. Adventure that is rare in modern books. Occasional breaks to drink chai and break bread with Afghan National soldiers. Bonds between men that bridge hemispheres and cultures. Guys who fix stuff in order to survive and guys who are solid infantry elite. Team beauty. I wanted to be there. Glad I wasn't, glad they were.

S is starting Against the Tide: Rickover's Leadership Principles and the Rise of the Nuclear Navy
Finished book, now slow-walking through endnotes. I am a cold-war vet, and was a Nuclear Reactor Operator ("Nuc R.O.") in the awesome Reagan era. As an enlisted nuc, I was a beneficiary of the perfectly blended theoretical/practical approach that resulted from Rickover's firm grasp of the program. "now commencing drills.." I miss that announcement...
