I learned so much about physics and astronomy, and I loved how those facts were used to develop character.

This book reminds me a lot of Clue, only the “players” are a grandmother and her children and grandchildren. I enjoyed the story, but the writer interrupted to plot too many times to tell me, as the reader, what to think instead of letting me infer. That was really annoying, and it made it hard to want to read at times.

The main character, Mike, is relatable, and had me wondering if King was writing about himself many times. Usually I struggle with King’s made up creatures and other worlds, but this one is close enough to reality that I could pay attention to the plot and character development, and really enjoy the story!

It took me a bit to get into the book. I think I was confused about the way he is telling g his story, weaving in generations with the present. Now, I’m hooked!

It is getting really hard for me to enjoy this in a pleasure kind of way (which I think the author intended) because I am feeling so sad for Lia, but also so frustrated with her.

I am enjoying all the references to places in Maine that I know!
