Some days, these days, one does have to ask oneself, What is one to do? The Pills? The Second Floor Window? Is it nobler in the mind to get on a train and leave town or to simply throw oneself under it?

The writing is at times hard to follow but I’m having so much fun reading this. It’s so intriguing

The writing style is reminiscent of ‘Dorian Gray’, also I love that we take ten pages to say “I’m gay” in vague British 1920s terms 😂

DNF @50% totally lost interest and couldn’t find the effort to finish. Not the story I thought it was and the emphasis on certain characters was unnecessary.

This is quickly becoming my new personality. Everything about Shelly’s writing is amazing, the amount of quotes underlined so far is insane

Defined as “The First Gothic Novel”, I’m reading this as part of my deep dive into Gothic literature. So far it’s an intriguing story and loving the atmosphere. This is definitely one of the oldest books I’ve read, it feels like I’m reading Shakespeare

Brain candy book - I have to keep reminding myself to read this for fun and not for any literary criticism but the writing is questionable. There’s been one liners that have made me think, maybe reading this wasn’t the right choice. The plot sounds really fun though
