You know that song, “99 bottles of ‘beer’ on the wall?” This book feels like I’m singing that song, painfully counting down, just to get to 2 bottles left& giving up because you can’t take any more of that tune.The struggle between Ahab& the whale is likened to my struggle with this book. The biblical references are the most entertaining part. I will not be defeated by Moby Dick. I WILL finish this book!

I’m sure there’s a reason this book has stood the test of time. I just haven’t found it yet. The characters and setting are detailed enough, but I was expecting more of a whale attack…? Ahab is just insane and we’re slowly watching his crew go crazy as well. Even being the daughter of a sailor man, this is one of the most boring classics I’ve committed to. Hopefully it improves!
