Romance plot structure is a bit non-standard. I'm willing to go with it for now.

Turns out nothing takes me out of the story quite like a character named "Joe Random".

"I shrugged. I wanted to say, Good thing I’m not missing out, then, but I didn’t want to come across as glib. I wanted to just let all of the points roll off of me like water off a duck’s back."

I need to read 6 books before 2017. But I'm visiting family with 2 small children. I'm not sure it's possible. At home, definitely. Away? *sigh*

And the last book I read had a plot that didn't seem to come from the characters and I want to rewrite it. Which seems kind of rude to actually do, you know?

Before reading Painted Crown I realized I had absolutely zero recollection of what happened in Engineered Throne. For sure I read it, but damned if I remember a thing. I do remember it wasn't my favorite of Megan's... but not my least favorite. Middle of pack, if you will. This read through, though, I liked it more than I expected. A lot more. I don't know what was wrong with past-me.

Not sure yet whether I've started a re-read of the Megan Derr backlist or just enjoying my favorites... but enjoying the favorites inevitably leads to a massive re-read... soooooo....

Looks like there's angst in the community again. Ignorance is bliss. Or, at least, not stress.

Why yes, we are going for an immediate reread. I do love me a good triad story.

"Why the fuck aren't you in Paris?" So, I may have taken the first exit off the high road and am now driving straight through the middle of Resentment County. Population: me. Bite me. The high road is for losers anyway.

It's official. I am a Mercy Celeste fangirl. This book is fantastic.

This has to be one of the most optimistic stories ever written.

Gems of awesomeness among mounds of fluff. Will have to reread to get the most of information (courtesy of poor organization of material)

The organization of this book baffles me. In the section on "concept" and is yours good enough the author has a section "who you are as a writer" (complete with yet another metaphor, this one relating writers to composers)

Having a hard time with this one. The author and I are not on the same wavelength, I think.
