My friends did a book about a thing I love!!! :>

Reading while watching the 1989 film with Branagh. Kinda excited, won't lie.

The prose and chapter division feels so stilted and off putting, and thus far the world feels like an episode of Black Mirror. I don’t particularly enjoy Black Mirror.

Mattie, you just shot a man and are being held hostage in a stand-off between marshalls and bandits. I think you should be able to figure it out.

Interesting book, but absolutely showing its age and outdatedness in the style. Could do with less listings of bible verses that Mattie knows, but nothing's perfect I suppose.

It was $1 at work, and I still have a month and a half until uni goes back. I need to read *something*.

God I love this book.

I Love These Magic Lesbians

An interesting but somewhat slow start. Enjoying the format and the story, but not super into the author's heavy reliance on stereotypes.

Currently rereading, because after the disappointment of the Winter Witch, I want to know if this book is as good as I remember. So far, yes, it is.
It's interesting coming back to this years later, having studied Early Modern Europe with a particular focus on the witch hunts. Brackston's nailing it on the historical front, imo.

Pneumonoa update: it sucks, but at least I'm being forced to read for once.

Trapped in bed with pneumonia and too sick to focus on uni reading, so catching up on leisure reading instead.

Rugg writes with such clarity, and there is such palpable irritation and grief in her words regarding her campaigning for marriage equality in Australia. Her desire to write it down from her perspective so as to stop the Turnbull government from claiming that victory as theirs alone is absolutely valid.

I didnt even read the blurb before starting this one, so that first chapter took me COMPLETELY off guard.

Chambers' easy prose makes it so easy to tear through her books like they are nothing at all, but in actuality, contain everything I love in a story. Review to come later; for now, it's bedtime.

I'm loving how different in story and setting this one is from A Long Way. Chambers' writing is so clear and direct, but so full of emotion and care.

why do I always start fascinating books before I begin a new class.
Loving it so far. Got some thoughts about this non-binary Ohan character that are percolating, but as I haven't yet encountered them yet, I'll hold off. Fingers crossed for some good nb rep, eh?

So, I'm working like mad on my next artwork, hoping to get it done this week, and for some reason, I have to go and sit on the floor to find something. And then, the dog comes and falls asleep in my lap, and obviously it's illegal for me to move. The only thing in reach is the script book, so, I just take a moment to sit on the floor with the dog and read through about half of episode 3's script. It's pretty good.
