So far, I think his claims are mostly anecdotal, but I believe what he says about nature and play. It helps to have read studies about play to know about the scientific evidence. I’m struggling with his “kids these days” gen. division. I know this book is 20 years old (and I’m curious to know if he doubles down or has a different perspective in his more recent book in 2019). But it has serious boomer energy.

I have listened to Brené Brown talk and this book is like listening to a familiar voice. She writes the way she talks, which, if you like her, you’ll easily be swept into the conversation of her text. So far I like it. It’s not a light read and so I keep coming back to it when I feel like “doing some work”.
