Nah eff the Black brothers in this fic. I love them both truly but I also need someone to lock them in a room with a therapist so that they can communicate properly for once. Also Sirius being mad because James and Remus kept Jegulus a secret from him? It's not about whether or not they trusted Sirius. That just wasn't their secret to tell! UNLIKE THE WEREWOLF SECRET.

Ch 32 TW: Referenced Non-Con/Rape
Every chapter following Ch 25 and really the whole story should have this tag added to it. It makes me sick that this happened to Mary and that it happens in real life too even without magic involved. No one in that school actually had her best interest at heart and failed to protect her or the other girls that were in that room with her

TW for Chapter 26:
Begins with discussions of rape/non-consensual events that happened in Ch. 25. Mary recounts some of the memories of what happened to her in the Slytherin dorms. Nothing overly explicit but she does have bruises and head trauma that are mentioned. Why rape/non-con isn't used in the archive warnings is beyond me when it's this central to the plot.

If no one is going to hold this fic accountable for it's tagging I guess I'll do it but in this chapter Mary and a bunch of muggleborns are put under the Imperio spell by some Slytherins. Regulus puts a stop to it BUT he alters Mary's memories to protect his friends. Mary later admits she was raped.

Chapter 20: Ends with a discussion about past rape.
I'm seriously having issues with how this story is tagged cause if I saw a noncon tag before reading I would've proceeded with caution but this fic is literally giving me anxious, Regulus was 13 years old. If I did my math right Lucius was 27. A child cannot give consent and I hate Regulus blames himself or considers it as one of his bad choices. I'm going to vomit

Ok but truly if it weren't for Regulus Arcturus Black staying in that abusive household (regardless of his reason for staying) then Sirius never would've been able to run away to the Potter's. We don't talk about that enough. It was a choice that kept the Potters and Sirius from being higher on the House of Black's hitlist

Chapter 10: Bellatrix uses the Imperius Curse on Regulus forcing him to do stuff against his will. Lucius is implied to have used Regulus for sexual favors but it's not explicitly described. Walburga Black uses magic to invade/read Regulus' mind.

Trigger warning on Chapter 10. The tags don't mention it and I understand everyone has their own opinion on tags but heavy implications and descriptions of non-consensual elements. I had to take a walk after this chapter because the tags on the chapter were child abuse, trauma, and threatened forced outing which is triggering enough but it was the non-consensual elements that really got me. So all I knew was that this was a popular poetry book and that each poem was short. I thought it was going to be like atticus poetry, maybe some love poems, but I open the first page and it's about abuse and rape. It's beautifully written, but very heavy and upsetting to read. I wish I actually checked what it was about before I started reading

The ending never fails to make me want to cry which isnt good when you are walking around campus listening to the audiobook:'(

I'm almost done but 2 things I forgot to mention:
1) They play each other like their instruments and it always makes me so happy and giddy because i think that moment was so intimate and I'm glad it's in the book
2) That line "The you you are today is the same you I was in love with yesterday. The same you I'll be in love with tomorrow." That should be written in the stars

Listening to the audiobook without the pictures is weird but I like it. It's like listening to a story on the radio. Plus, the different voice actors and sound effects are much appreciated and is something more audiobooks should do

I've forgotten how cute Thorne and Cinder's relationship was they literally argue all the time and it's hilarious :D
