Not super captivated by the plot, the story feels kind of aimless right now

Inhaling this book, the plot is so good, such a page turner!

Chapter 1 immediately sucked me in!

The writing feels very YA so far

Things are finallyyyyy picking up- getting a bit more entertaining. Its hard to connect with any of the characters though, none really have depth, all still very surface level :/

Not really lovinggg it...not really liking all the different character POVs and different timelines. The story isn't immersive, none of the characters really standing out.
Hopefully it picks up a little more :/

We’re following Cate, she’s a mother of 2 teens- Georgie, 15, and Josh, 14. Married to child psychologist, Roan.
Cate’s got insecurity & trust issues in her marriage, she went through a period where she thought Roan was cheating w one of his patients. He’s fascinated by the children he works w..specializes in sociopathic children- teens, specifically.

Mitch hacks into the police database & finds their hit list for Eli. The police officer who put Victor away 10 years ago, Stell, is one of the cops who update the list, the other one Dane. They change all the targets middle names to something starting w Eli- like Elise or Elissa…Sydney finds her name in there too, middle name changed from Marion to Elinor…

Victor- 32, escaped from prison w his cellmate, Mitch.
Sydney- 12, was shot in the arm. Found injured along a road in the rain by Victor & Mitch.
All currently staying in a hotel. Victor trying to get revenge on his old college roommate Eli.

Were following 18 year old Cory, just graduated highschool, is working as a camp counselor at her old summer camp cause she got rejected from every college she applied to, doesn’t know what to do w herself.
Her mom works in agriculture, cares abt the envoirment & the world a lot, tries helping Cory figure out what she wants to do but they aren’t close, Cory doesn’t want to go home after summer ends.

Alexi loves the theater & is very popular around town. Dracula won’t let him take part in any plays, makes him do little performances for the girls at home instead. One night, after Constanta & Dracula return from hunting they find Alexi having a little party. Dracula kills one of his friends in front of everyone, they all run out screaming.-

We start off w a letter from the main character to her lover- a love letter/confession saying she feels the need to explain why she’s killed him.

She starts at the beginning of her story in the midst of war, her family is burned to death by raiders, afterward abt 6 men beat her before leaving her for dead.

We’re following 34 y/o Sydney, living in New York City, on a first date w a guy, Kevin, she met off a dating app- it’s goes horribly! After the date he asks to walk her home, she reluctantly agrees, leading him to a random apartment building & pretending she lives there to get rid of him.

Present- Jeremy & Lowen finally make out! Lowen sees Verity at the top of the steps tho, staring at them & then runs back to her room…Lowen freaks out but Jeremy doesn’t believe her, thinks she just sleep deprived from working so hard.

By this point Lowen has written a rough draft of the first book she’s writing & submitted it to her agent.

We’re following Lowen, an author on her way to a business meeting w her agent abt a potential job. On her way there, Lowen witnesses someone get hit by a car, their blood splatters all over her…luckily a man notices her shock, takes her to a coffee shop to get herself cleaned up, even gives her his shirt, introduces himself as Jeremy.

Gonna see what all the hype’s about lol

Oh no 🥺🥺 Lee slips in Jesse’s blood when she finds his body..freaks out & grabs the purse Hazel left for her, runs to the beach, washes the blood off her in the ocean.
She’s so confused as to why Jesse was there but she’s not dumb, quickly puzzles together that Hazel & Jesse could have known each other.

We’re following Lee, former owner of a failed restaurant, recently homeless living out of her car.
We start off w Lee being robbed by meth heads, they smash her car window while she’s still inside, she tries to drive away but they’re able to steal her purse w all her identification inside.

Kinda reminding me of The Housemaid’s Secret so far

We’re following Elodie, a woman married to a bread baker in her mid 30s, living in a small French town. She develops a crush/fixation on a woman who recently moved to town- Violet.

When Ravyn & Elm reach Elspeth’s room they’re too late, Orthe is dead, Hauth is barely alive & the Shepard King has taken over Elspeth, her eyes no longer black but permanently yellow now. Shepard king tells them to turn him in, that he’ll take the blame for it all..wants to see the Rowan king.

It’s Market Day celebration, a mascarade ball at the castle, everyone’s there- Elspeth’s family see her w Ravyn.

Elm doesn’t trust Elspeth, tells her it’s obvious she’s keeping a secret & he can see her eyes turn yellow in certain light, doesn’t think someone like her could fight that well without magic. She wants to tell him & Ravyn abt the nightmare sometimes but she’s afraid.
