Might DNF...Not really captivating at all

Things are finally getting good again :3

Kind of want to DNF, this book has noo right being 700 pages long, it's draggggggging

Sabine's character development is sad :( She was always adventurous, her entire existence is based around her freedom and her love for it- but when she falls in love with Lottie, Lottie just becomes her prisoner. How can she base her whole life off of her love for freedom but then takes away her own lover's freedom? Sabine was never insecure or possessive, it's sad seeing how love is changing her for the worse.

Veryyyy happy Sabine isnt Lottie, I thought that would be the twist. Loving the romance between Lottie and Sabine! Things are finally picking up !

Getting kinda boring...

I don't think any book she writes will ever come close to Addie Larue buttt still enjoying it

To try lifting the mist, Taxus and his sister, Ayris, went into the woods to try bartering with the Spirit- the barter would be Ayris's life...In order to find your way to the Spirit, someone has to let the mist infect them and then they will be shown the path.
With the infection overtaking Ayris, Taxus tried carrying her back but decided to leave her behind because he was weak and wanted to conserve his strength-

Elm rode to Ione's house to get her dresses so she can start feeling like herself again - ahhhhh stfu i love him so much awhhhh !

Taxus begs for a 12th card, he wants the mist to be lifted or to be able to heal people from the sickness it brings. He says he will trade anything for it. After he's granted the Twin Alders card, he realizes he's not able to use any of the other cards anymore.
Tension grows between Brutus and Taxus, Brutus thinks he's too obsessed with magic to rule.

Soooo Taxus marries Petra, Brutus marries Ayris. Taxus brings his kids to Spirit asking her to bless them with magic- she does for some, like his daughter for example, Tilly, can heal people but in exchange it takes a toll on her. To counteract her magic's negative effects, he forges more cards- ex: the maiden to heal Tilly and keep her beautiful.
As time goes on, Taxus's need for more magic grows-

Soooooo The Shephard King, aka Taxus Yew, had a sister Ayris- she had a thing with Brutus Rowan, I'm assuming he eventually steals the crown. Taxus also gave him the first Black Horse Card when he was still bartering with the Spirit to make more cards...Things are getting goooood!

Sydney freaks me out, she's such a weirdo! Zade is superrrrr cringey with his anger lol "they'll feel my wrath"
Addy- yikes girl...

Loveeee that we get more of Ione's character!! Her & Elm- ahhhhh i love them !

It just gets worse! Alex makes the absolute worst choices 🙄

Now Alex...why would you do that to that kid in the shower..? So odd, where are we going with this? lol

Not super captivated by the plot, the story feels kind of aimless right now

LMAOOO this is so stupid - her dad is Lucifer? Come on now

Inhaling this book, the plot is so good, such a page turner!

Chapter 1 immediately sucked me in!

The writing feels very YA so far

"It's me, it's Jake, your big brother. I've come back"
Lol such a stupid and predictable "plot twist"- literally rolled my eyes reading that

Getting better, plot twist was cool :)

Things are finallyyyyy picking up- getting a bit more entertaining. Its hard to connect with any of the characters though, none really have depth, all still very surface level :/

Not really lovinggg it...not really liking all the different character POVs and different timelines. The story isn't immersive, none of the characters really standing out.
Hopefully it picks up a little more :/
