DNF, maybe I’ll revisit it. A dull start. For me, it doesn’t ring true of Celtic spirit or the culture. Read “Anam Cara” by John O’Donohue. This very fictional story reads like a dystopian survival journey. IMO, not a lot of heart and her “version of Celtic Spirituality” seems more like mystic smoke and mirrors. I did like “The Lion of Ireland” better as did other reviewers.

Crass sex descriptions and woke narratives of people who did not exist in this environment at the time. If she would stick to the historical accuracy and not be so crude/vulgar in sex descriptions, it might be better. But I’m sure the publishers are asking for that. Historical fiction meets Harlequin romance. Not an author of greatness because she sells out to the demands of the publishes of pulp fiction.
