@26% there's a scene where a baby is being fed with a spoon, like an airplane preparing to land. It is apparent the audiobook narrator has never heard of this and doesn't know how to mimic an airplane sound. Now, this could be all the fault of the author and how he typed it, but what the listeners got is not even close haha

Uh oh. His Epilogue didn't age well at all. I have a feeling this book is going to enrage me in our current technological climate. Cheers to a work of "fiction!"

I don't understand the author's infatuation with David Starr Jordan. Her drive to read everything about him, and her constant embarrassment when discovering proof of his undesirable behaviors is incessant. It's obsessive.

Is this the same book everyone's raving about?? What "slow burn, enemies to lovers?" Within 10 minutes of the audiobook, we've already got a sex scene. Absolutely no character development, just random sex scenes. And listening to the audiobook, the narrator picked the most bland accent for a young 20s Ilya. If nothing substantial develops soon, I'm going to DNF and go watch the show instead.
