Amelia B. Edwards' 'The Phantom Coach' - The story changes gears from loneliness & isolation to the supernatural & believing what experiments cannot prove, thus James Murray being the 4th passenger. But I suffer from the same fatal flaw of wanting proof. If she could have said something more about the 4th passenger, I would have believed his claims more easily. But I assume that is not the point of the story, right?

Sir Walter Scott's 'the Tapestried Chamber' - I haven't made my mind what my personal feelings are about his sentences. Need to read more of his to do so. But the climax was a bit let down. Can a reader forgive this let down since it was written sometime most likely, before 1829?

Nora Ephron's sense of humour and Meryl Streep's narration makes this book the ideal audiobook about "heartburn" or so it seems after a couple of hours in!
💔+😝=❤️‍🩹
It is scary how much I relate with lovely but late Nora.

I have a PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics. Yet I have never read a textbook since school from cover to cover. It has been a dream. I have so many partially read physics books. I want to start reading them loosely from cover to cover. So this is my end-of-the-year challenge. Finish at least 10, if not 13, chapters of this book.

Chapter 1 done.

Happy reading! 🙃

Was rather slow so far. Suspense has only been built. Almost 2/3rd in, and NOW I am excited finally. My slowest Christie read do far parhaps.

The control of parents over their children in eastern society is sometimes so cruel. On the other side, it is too detached. Is there any culture which has managed to find a balance?

I think poetry has more power over me. It's appreciation and partial understanding more inherent to my nature. But it doesn't cure my restlessness but helps it ascend a note higher.

I change, rather have made my mind. It is good, not inept writing. The teenager-ish vibe isn’t bad at all. I like the fey in Anne and the immaturity of the plot. Life sometimes rather IS like the latter and me, like the former, although I am 32! Or just PMDDing!!! 🤪
