Not a quick read, mainly because every paragraph speaks volumes. I may have to buy it and return the library book soon. It will be worth every penny.

This is a book you want to savor. It is so rich in detail, and filled with interesting characters. At this point, Steward is just beginning to meet with Alfred Kinsey and share his sexual history as part of Kinsey's sex study. Interesting!

This book has been very slow going because every paragraph is rich in detail. It's not a quick read. But Steward is such an interesting personality that I just have to keep reading. As of page 70, he is 30 years old in 1939, enjoying hedonistic pleasures of travel in Algeria, but is being urged to return to Paris in letters from Gertrude Stein, who warns him of impending war. Can't wait to see what happens next!
