a summary of the book so far: water is wet

“She tells them everything [that she got SA’d]” (which tells us almost nothing) was a missed opportunity. I would rather know what she says, and how she says it, and how they react and respond (not just “and it changed everything”)

Maybe it comes later but it really seems like 1 we’re not being able to really experience the story without the narration intervening, and 2 a weird emotional cliffhanger

The utility with cliches is you can say s lot with a little, so why are we getting 3 entire chapters of cliches and archetypes. Either make it more complex or make it shorter.

Also: HOW big/little is this town???

Astronaut chapters feel like an ad read, hopefully that’ll go away as there’s less exposition.

I take it back, Maddie’s chapters are mind numbing.

Why does this gut not have an editor? Fully half of the text could be cut and it would still only be most of the pointless description.

About a third of the way through the book and it’s not super compelling- Felicity feels like reader vessel, there’s no strong sense of urgency or even curiosity.

The “svu episode opener” interludes with Madison are pretty fun, wish it were the main.

-weird opinions abt historical costuming the appear to be accepted by all characters and not challenged by text
-VERY self-pitying Lily, already seeing this is an unreliable narrator, hoping she gets less annnoying tho
-can’t wait to find out if theres a point or if lilliana made this complicated for s+g
