Mara changes from happy to confused. Soon she will get masked and it would represent adulthood and the ability of someone to use magic. However, when the mask is put on her face, the mask shatters. Then she says, "What's happening to me? Is this a dream?" (68). This shows that she is confused that the mask destroyed her face when she had magic and had passed her magic tests.

Caroline changes from angry to scared. She is mad at her grandmother and when she finds out she has cancer, she becomes scared. She is told that she will die soon and when her grandmother becomes really ill, she "covers her mouth as hot tears spill over her cheeks" and says to her grandmother "I'm scared" (370. This shows that she is scared that her grandmother will die.

Lexi changes from happy to scared. Sometimes, she is Lexi or Alicia. She breaks up with her boyfriend, the next day, he gets murdered. She is afraid that she will be caught and says to her twin sister "Look, someone has murdered him and it was the night after I was with him. Also I had the fake Alicia ID" (35). This shows that she is scared and nervous that the cops are going to find out that she is 'Alicia'.

Laine changes from happy to scared. She has a best friend named Leah and when she dies, she believes that it is her fault. The incident had happened after she had chased Leah, driving, when both of them were drunk. Then she became scared and continuously told herself "Leah's dead, Leah's dead. Leah's dead" (202). This shows that she is scared and that she can't stop thinking about Leah's death.

Lisa changed from normal to scared. After the car incident, she was told that she would have nightmares and hallucinations for a while. When she is told to babysit a boy named Harry she is thankful to earn 300 dollars a week. However, she sees demons in the house. She becomes scared and says " No. It can't be. It can't be" (155). This shows that she is to scared to say something to even to call for help.

Cole changed from happy to scared. She went through reincarnation again, but still had the memories from the past. When she meets Drew, a stranger, he tells her that he is her old husband from a million years ago. Cole refuses to accept that fact and becomes scared of this stranger. So she "takes a step back from him" (47). This shows that she is scared of Drew and doesn't know who he is.

Luce changes from happy to scared. At her dorm, she finds a note from Daniel telling her in front of a bus stop. But when she arrives, she meets Cam, and she finds out that the note is fake and when Cam asks her if she needs a ride, she says "Do you think I will get in the car after I watched you kill someone?" (133). This shows that she is scared to find Cam, who had killed her friends a few days ago.

The theme of my book was that there was always time for everything. America liked Prince Maxon and Aspen. However, she didn't know who to marry and didn't want to take responsibilities of becoming a princess. And what she needed, was time. For example, she said “Time. Just give me some time. I’m not sure yet” (159). This shows that she is unsure of what to do because who she chooses, will effect everyone's life.

In The Chamber of Secrets, it was written "It was pandemonium. The pixies shot in every direction like rockets" (102). At first I didn't understand what pandemonium meant, but by using context clues, I figured out that it meant crazy and out of control. Because it was written that they were like rockets all over the place, I was able to figure out the definition of pandemonium.

In The Chamber of Secrets, it explains the force of Ron's car bumping into a tree.It says "Something hit his side of the car with the force of a charging bull" (74-75). This explains how fast and hard Ron had landed. This also shows how careless Ron is and how he would get in trouble for ruining his dad's car.

Isabel is worried and determined. She wants to help Curzon and steals food scraps for Curzon and for the others that are in the jail. When Madam Lockton finds out, she orders Isabel to not visit him and Isabel thinks to herself "How would I get word to Curzon that I couldn't bring food any longer?" (246). This shows that she is worried about him and wants to help him from starving.

Isabel is brave and courageous. Everything was on fire and she had been scared and said "The air was filled with crackling and popping sounds, with shrieks and screams coming from the street below"(192). This shows that she was scared but when Lady Seymour was trapped in the house, she saved her. This shows that Isabel was brave enough to help someone though she could have hurt herself.

Madam Lockten is a mean and unfair slave owner. She was mean to Isabel and beated her often. For example Madam Lockten ordered Isabel to buy food while there was fighting going on and when she didn't answer her, Lockton scolded "Are you deaf?" (174). This shows that she is mean and that she doesn't care what Isabel thinks or what her opinions are.

Colonel Regan is a liar. In the beginning, he promised Isabel that he would help her gain her freedom. Instead when Isabel ran away and she asked him for help, he refused and "picked up his hat from the table and set it on his head" (140). This shows that he doesn't care about Isabel, is using her, and didn't want to keep his promise.

Harry changed from unpopular to popular. In the beginning, he was bullied by Dudley. But in Hogwarts, everyone knew him and was known as the boy who lived. Also by the time they reached Hogwarts everyone knew that he was in the train and Malfoy said "They're saying all down the train that Harry Potter's in this compartment" (108). This shows that everyone knows him and was even mentioned in several published books.

Uncle Vernon (Mr.Dudley) changes from mean to scared and weak. In the beginning, he yelled at Harry and was really mean to him. But when he met Hagrid, he became scared and he" made a funny noise, like a mouse being trodden away" (47). this shows that he was scared like a mouse and was scared of giant Hagrid.

Macbeth changed from weak to powerful. In the beginning, he was told to do things by Lady Macbeth and was scared.Instead, he became powerful after King Duncan was killed and he was asked to become king. For example, he had the power to order the murderers and said "Whose love I may not drop, but wail his fall"(43). This shows that he was not nervous anymore to kill someone and wanted to be more powerful.

Neva changes from curious to scared. Neva wondered why people disappeared. So she decided to figure out what happened to these people and why. When she found out that people who disappeared was kidnapped to become pregnant or was killed for finding out, she told her mom "I'm going run away and look for grandma!"(113)and she left. This showed how afraid she was and how she really wanted to escape from the community.

David changed from disobedient to obedient. Till now,Catherine thought David as annoying and so she made a bunch of rules for him. After that, he started to understand the concept of being "respectful." For example when Catherine reminded him the rule, David told himself "If you want to get away from someone, check your watch and say "Sorry,gotta go." (143). This showed that David was trying hard to be polite.

David has an inner conflict. He is different than others and has some problems. He goes to OT classes and people make fun of him because he looks different and act different. But, it hurts his feeling because he has feeling and a heart which, others forget. For example when Ryan says " You learn how to jump!" (107), he hides behind his sister and becomes sad. This shows that he was scared and was getting bullied by.

Catherine changes from mean to caring. At first she hates how her brother, David, is weird and goes to OT classes. But later in the book when their next door neighbor made fun of David and gives him a gum wrapper making him think that gum was inside, she gets mad and said "You jerk" and "Get out of my yard and take your stupid gum with you." This shows that she cares about David and doesn't want others to bully him.

Will changes from happy to frightened. Till then, he was normal and was happy until he saw Trinity. Trinity started to dream about bad things about the future and fainted when she saw Will. Will had told his friend, "Something bad is going to happen and you must stay away from Trinity" (67). After she heard this, she knew that someone would get hurt again and that this time, Will was involved in this case.

Trinity changed from being lonely to worried. She was lonely at first when she kept on staying inside the house after the dreams she had about people getting hurt. And now, she kept on feeling strange and weird and started to worry that she would have the "dreams" again. For example, her friend said "Omigod, You're like ice." This showed that she looked pale and that she didn't feel well.

Even though Sophie was evil in the last book, she tries to be nice and is a hardworker. For example, she says to Agatha "I tried to be good"(28). Also, she tells her "You make me happy, Agatha"(30).And a evil would never talk about they feel.

One of the character in the book is Tedros. He is very kind and respects those who respect him back. For example when Hester asks "Where's your witch?" He told her "Safe.",That proved that he cared about Sophia and didn't want others to think that she was actually evil and clumsy.

Hattie Mae Harper, Abilene Tucker's father's friend takes care of Abilene Tucker while her father works in the railroads. She is very nice to Abilene and respects and treats her as her own daughter. For example, when she first meets Abilene, she says "Well, aren't you a little darling." (14). Also later on in the book, she tells Abilene about Ned and Jinx when she asks her who they are.

Abilene Tucker is very curious. For example, when she arrives at Hattie Mae's house and finds letters that a guy named Ned wrote, she asked herself "Who is the The Rattler that was in the letter and would my dad know who he is since it was a letter written long time ago?"

When Sophie takes the trail, she hears her mom and dads voice. Even though she know that they are dead, she still wants to save them. Sophie is scared and desperate to go home. For example, she yells "What do you want", when she sees seven feet tall scarecrows. Also, she says "I can't... I can't survive this..."
