Writing this for my own memory. He has very faith promoting arguments and his scripture knowledge is very good. His science is not very good. And by science (for those that scoff at the idea of using science for an end-times religious book, let's say his logic and assumptions). He jumps to conclusions without realizing alternative interpretations that are much more likely. Suggesting wars have increased is ambiguous.

This is a Did Not Finish for me. After getting almost 1/4th through this monster tome I finally decided to give up on it. It just had near zero appeal for me. It seemed to be almost a satire, but a cynical one focused on cryptology. I just couldn't push through it.

I'm quitting this book. I've only never finished a book a handful of times, but I just don't care about this one. I'm not one for mythology and this book is at least half mythology of the world-building, rather than actual world-building and story progression. I'm sure the story gets better, but at this point I don't care about the characters, they don't act rationally, the world is not interesting and I'm bored :).
