Really struggling to care about this book and these characters... just not connecting. I like it in theory... i think the problem is it is sooo annoyingly vague, alluding to a big "something" that happened but without knowing what it was, how am I supposed to care about how things are now? It just makes me annoyed that they're just going to drag this out until a big reveal.

Finished chapter 1 and lukewarm so far. There is a fine line trying to be vague enough to keep interest but not give everything away and this intro was too vague. I dont care about this mc yet, or whoever Easton is so I just dont care about whatever happened enough to be hooked? But apparently these first pages hooked an agent somehow. Maybe chapter 2 picks up.

This is so far weirdly making me REALLY want to go to IKEA, but probably bc it's not in the "horror" part yet. Surely it's fine if I dont visit after dark, right? IKEA Calgary presumably wasnt built upon an old murder prison?

This book is excellent and terribly horrifying

This book is still lulling me into a false sense of security. Would really enjoy this if it was a romance or fiction instead of gross horror...

So far I am really liking this book!

This is okay, but does the author have to have a foreboding/foreshadowing line at the end of EVERY chapter? It feels totally forced and scripted in a way that most thrillers I've read don't have to do to be effective.

Look, I get that this book is called "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" but although I am really enjoying this so far, I am extremely frustrated with Monique for thinking that the most important thing about Evelyn is her LOVE life? I want to know about EVELYN, not who she loved the most. Not her worth in relation to someone else. What a shallow angle to take. I hope Monique figures this out and changes course.

I looked up what Harry Styles looked like when we was 20 and in One Direction and it's making this even squickier. He looked SO young. 😬😫 Also these 46 page long chapters are killing me.

WHY must you refer to him as Hayes Campbell every single time? Just Hayes! Even though it's terrible by itself!

This is the second time she has used the term 'sylphlike' and I am not a fan. Pls not again.

I loathe the name Hayes. 😡 And idk why but the age gap makes me feel squicky. I'd be like 75% more into this if the MC was also 20.

Reading this for book club. Am suspicious but trying to be open minded lol
