‘You have bo tenderness, inly truth, that makes it unfair’

Noting some otherworldly coincidences lately since starting this book. I take ‘it’ all in by Weil’s concise prose, but find myself sitting on each sentence for a long time and rereading after every few essays — every time I return, I walk away with something new without doubt that there will be more. I don’t know if I’m ready though.

Reading Susan Sontag feels like being called out to succumb to reasons, yet constantly covering yourself up with armor against any extraneous ruptures of the reading ego. Busy, dizzy.

Why no one has adapted these short stories into short films yet? Realism and surrealism at their total harmony, Carver paints snapshots of lives with cigaret buds, monologues disguised as dialogues, activities turned into acts, love rendered nihilistic. Wildly different from his meditative poetry, but holds utterly similar ideals.

The book is being ridiculously mind-blowing... (In a good way)

Im losing patience. I want to put it aside so badly .-.

How can a feminist be reading this!

Oh my god how I hate indecisive men... It is not uncommon to say this buy I hold my stance in showing contempt towards men.

All men are hypocrites

Not sympathy exactly, but I feel hurt and feel like being whipped along with them, the slaves. It's excruciating a feeling, like a direct whip into my soul. 'I ask no paradise on high With cares on earth oppressed The only heaven for which I sigh Is rest, eternal rest.'
