I can tell this book is going to be 5 stars

The language is surprisingly dense and the "action" is oddly paced, so it keeps losing momentum. I'm going to switch to audio to see if that helps me enjoy it more.

I decided I couldn't read Julia, without rereading the original book, because I didn't remember it well enough from high school. It is very interesting reading them simultaneously.

this book is so frustrating. I feel like Kate keeps asking the same questions and getting the same non-answers from Selina and I'm worried that as soon as Selina actually answers one thing, the mystery will be solved right away and that would feel so cheap to me.

I don't like all of this macho protectiveness crap. Also, one of the things I liked about the first one was that all of the characters were really smart and solved the riddles relatively quickly, but there are some pretty obvious things in this one that I think they're not getting.

I'd like this so much better if there was none of this weird sexual tension. I don't believe it and I don't like it.

Only 5% in and already not loving the hating of the supposed partner of the hero that's going on. i'll accept it if he learns that that's not an okay thing to do by the end of the book, but currently, i'm salty about it.
