I’ve barely gotten through the Author’s Note and I’m already tearing up. I know this book is from a son’s perspective, but as the only daughter of a man who I know worked incredibly hard to provide a better life for his kids with few resources and support, I’m positive I’m going to be able to relate to this more than I thought I would.

only two chapters in and this book is already pissing me off (because of how teenage girls were treated and how teenage pregnancy was handled not because of the book itself). Also, I'm getting slight Girl, Interrupted vibes.
