I love that Sadeqa Jonson referenced the real life Ebony articles about the Brown Babies and mentioned Ethel’s name in this part of the time line.

Whew….I had to sit down and pay attention with this one. Audiobook is excellent- love the atmosphere that is created with music, sounds, etc. The crazy is amped up in here too!

I am enjoying the banter Nina has with her “roster.” The helicopter and hotel room scenes were 🔥The way Russ talks 🌶️ to Nina is serious!

Still plugging along. I can see why this book received so much praise, I like the pov angles from the three main characters.

I am struggling with this book! Without a doubt this is a wonderful book, and all the praise it received is well earned, I am just struggling with the subject matter. I could care less! I picked this book up last year for book club and did not finish. I am determined to try again. Teen pregnancy, with racism, etc. are just not high on my "want" to read list. I am invested, it is engaging, I want to get to the end.

I am enjoying everything about this Black Southern Creole Jessica Fletcher (Murder, She Wrote) type amateur detective/bookie. 😂😂
