I have to read this in stops and starts, as my little one sometimes requests a different book, or she tells me when she wants to just go to sleep. :) It's a great book though.

Reading this to my little one at bedtime. Love the fun, witty writing, and how she paints her characters in such an honest light. It's definitely Mary Poppins and not Mary Sue.

Mr Darcy’s eyes flashed in anger. His hands balled into fists at his sides. Then, just as suddenly, he seemed to relax again. Holy psychopath, he was so changeable!

Ok, I just have to quote this; I literally cannot stop laughing! …Phtatt! Phtatt! Phtatt! ‘Feel it, Elizabeth! Come for me, baby!’ Mr Darcy said in a strangled whisper. – Unsure of the ways of the flesh, Elizabeth plundered her memory for the only act of love she had ever witnessed: a bull tupping a cow on a neighbour’s farm. Tentatively, she let out a long, low ‘Mooooooo!’

I do love the classics. Wish I could pick this up more but time is very short at the moment.

‘My Jane is easily the prettiest of the all,’ remarked Mrs Bennet. ‘Such fine strawberry-blonde locks! Such a magnificent rack! But alas! She is all but engaged to Mr Bingley, of Netherfield.’ – Mrs Bennet is one of my favourite characters of all time, and I love how she is portrayed in this parody! :)

‘It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good riding crop must be in want of a pair of bare buttocks to thrash.’ …Ha! Thanks to my best friend for this excellent birthday gift! I do love a good parody as much as I love P&P. Never read FSoG but somehow I recognise some of the lingo... so when Lizzy's 'Inner Slapper' is telling her to go for it with Darcy, it is funny!

I didn't realise Dickens switches POV in Bleak House! Works well.

Great books are like delectable meals; I like to take my time, savour them, and not want them to end! Yet if I had more than 5mins to spare atm, I would've devoured this book in 2days and then re-read it. But my 18-mnth old cannot feed/clothe herself, so I can't. But confident I am that this book is fantastic to the end, I already purchased the paperback for my sister’s Xmas present. She will LOVE this as much as me!

Loving this story so far; had me at page 1. Radie is very relatable. The descriptive writing is imaginative, intense and disturbing.
