She tugged on her arm, but he wouldn’t release her. Alarm set in. “How are you going to make me marry you? Force me?”
“It’s for your own good,” he said in a robotic-type voice, his face devoid of all expression.

He rubbed the side of his foot along hers. “After everything we’ve done together, you’re still so easy to shock. I wish I could bottle up your innocence and take it with me wherever I go.”

“You have a wonderful way with words, Maxwell.” She opened her purse to take out her phone.
Throwing her purse on the bed, he locked his arm around her waist and cupped her nape. Her heartbeat quickened at his bold move. He drew her up to him, his mouth mere inches away from her own.
“You’re the one I love and want to spend the rest of my life with.” He took a deep breath. “How do those words work for you?”

“I’ll tell you after the ceremony is over.” He took a set of keys off a table and slid them in his pocket along with his cell.

She examined her front, wondering if the color she wore held any specific meaning. Max had recommended she wear it. “You’re going to keep me in the dark that long?”

“The anticipation is worth the wait.” With his sneaky grin, he opened the door and beckoned her over.

If he even dared try to seduce her, she would maim him. So he suffered quietly, just like he had recklessly made her suffer because of his thoughtless actions.

She gripped his hair, and he looked up, his head suspended. He expected to see loathing in her eyes, but instead found disappointment and regret.

The sex they had shared then had been the most intense she had ever experienced. But she’d decided to leave him in order to find herself and give them the space they both needed. At least for tonight, she didn’t want to stay even an inch away from him. She wanted to absorb Max until the only thing she breathed in was him.

“Oh, God.” Erika dug her fingers into her thighs, unable to look away. She couldn’t remember the last time she had seen something so naughty, yet so erotic. She bit the inside of her cheek to stop from moaning.
“Let me help you relax,” Max whispered, and with a kiss on her cheek, he pushed back his chair and ducked under the table.

The tip of the ice cube slid out between his lips, a small slurp, and then a crunch as he chewed the ice.

She flexed her palm over her knee and kept her other hand around her bottle, barely stopping herself from crushing the plastic. How could she be so turned on by a man sucking and chewing on an ice cube?

His animal magnetism pulled at her... She knew exactly how he wanted to unwind. She would end up being his target, his willing victim who would gladly take whatever he offered or demanded.
