My reasons for this reread:
- 50% out of the nostalgia of a new school year
- 50% for a goodreads challenge, I can only get for another few days

I was hoping so much to avoid the cliche 3rd act drama... but no such luck

I love them so muchhhhhh

I love this! It is a contender for the best rom-com, I read this year.

However, hoahoahoa season is starting in a week. And boy, do I feel it calling to me. This book is amazing! LOVE IT! with that being said my annual twilight reread is approaching fast

Holy shit. I have never Dnf-ed a book so fast. I really like A walk in the woods and I still want to read other books of his, maybe on a subject I know less about. He is factually wrong and he cherry-picks examples to glamorize English.
But on a positive note, this was a real boost for my confidence. Apparently, I remember enough to spot to mistakes

I was super excited to read this book, and to refresh my knowledge of the history of the English language in a fun way, because I will need it in my teaching this semester. I wanted this book over the book we will discuss in class because Bryson is fun, and I only need a refresher.
How am I already pissed off? I love English (obviously) but talking down EFL speakers and other cultures IN THE FIRST FEW PAGES? Dude.

I shocked at what an attentive father Lestat is at the beginning. HOW ON EARTH IS LESTAT LESS CREEPY WITH CLAUDIA THAN LOUIS IS? HOW???
Also I am surprised at what percentage of the book is dedicated to Lestat's love for interior design. In the 21st century he would be obsessed with the Sims4

I know Lestat is objectively horrible, and he is. But Louis pisses me off so extravagantly. I know he is an unreliable narrator, and I can feel that he is trying to put himself in a more positive light. But this moral high ground? Ugh!!!

This is my 2nd time reading this book, but the first time I read it, I only looked for answers for my research. I didn't really digest and appreciate the story. Now reading it again, just out of enjoyment is so weird. Because I love the 1994 movie, but I LOVE the television series.
It seems the tv cast has become the characters for me.
I knew Louis was a slave owner, I knew it. Yet, all i see is Jacob Anderson!help

The way everyone is dodging around the elephant in the room is driving me insane! I feel the same frustration as Marcellus and it's killing me! I am yelling at every page: PLEASE TALK! PLEASE FIGURE IT OUT!!!

This book is breaking me out of my reading slump and I am so grateful for it!
