I am super confused because Aspen still likes America but she doesn't feel the same way for him. In my opinion, Aspen should let go of America as Marlee and Carter got severely punished with caning. Whatever happens to America, Aspen would probably be there for her even if she doesn't want him to be.

It was a bad idea to read this during the night. I think it is very creepy that the wights can change their accent. Now that I've read this part, I always look at someone's eyes to make sure they weren't wights. I wonder how often Dr. Golan had to change. He said he was many people but I why did Jacob not notice they all looked the same?

When Jake said "All right, all right." To his dad about going around with somebody else, I knew he was going to go out alone because he seemed to have said it with a hint of sarcasm. I think that if Jake isn't with anybody, a hollow might attack him. I also think Miss Peregrine has been watching him all the time because he has seen a Peregrine Falcon. I predict that if a hollow attacks him, a peculiar will save him.

This passage about the boxing ring has a lot of metaphors. For example, "His mustache was knitted to his face." I really like this passage as the whole thing is a metaphor. This is because it was Hitler versus Max and they symbolize Germans against Jews. Also, when the whole crowd came into the ring, I think it symbolized that Hitler was turning all the Germans against the Jews. Hitler uses words instead of manpower.

I love the way that Liesel describes the weather metaphorically. "The sky is blue today, Max, and there is a big long cloud, and it's stretched out, like a rope. At the end of it, the sun is like a yellow hole..." When Max commented about how only a child could make a weather report like that, I thought about maybe when you grow up, you lose that way of talking in metaphors. In my opinion, I like Liesel's way more.

I think that the author likes staring at the sky because he has written a lot about the sky in great detail. For example, "The sky was like soup, boiling and stirring. In some places, it was burned. There were black crumbs, and pepper streaked across the redness." It is amazing how the author uses so many metaphors for the one sky.

I think that the narrator is death because it says "I walked in, loosened his soul, and carried it gently away. All that was left was the body." Also, he was there at the train tracks when a person died. I also think the narrator is death because he says, "I will often catch an eclipse when a human dies." He said human instead of something else which indicates that the narrator himself is not human but something else

I love the personification the author wove into this book. For example, "The plane was still coughing. Smoke was leaking from both its lungs." I like how the author made the engine sound like they were lungs. Markus Zusak also has a lot of metaphors like this one, "Its wings were now sawn-off arms. No more flapping. Not for this metallic little bird." I like how the author compared the plane to so many things.

I was surprised when Catherine said to the King, "You are useless!" I was also shocked when Catherine almost killed the Jabberwock with a sword wanting to chop off its head. When she kept repeating to herself, "Off with its head," over and over I knew that that part was the beginning of her execution stage. I wonder if it was then when Catherine started feeling anger and rage and becoming the infamous Queen of Hearts

I finished right when Catherine said, "I....am flattered, Your Majesty." When the King asked for her courtship. I hope that Catherine will speak against her mother and say no even if there are consequences. I personally do not like how the King is not strong (in his own thinking). I think he is actually scared of Catherine and her strongness. I wonder what Catherine will say as she has been very unpredictable lately.

The author's descriptive language is amazing. I am getting a hankering for lemon tarts just by reading this. I love this sentence describing the smell of the tarts, "The aromas of sweet citrus and buttery, flaky crust curled beneath her nose." It is as if the tart is not from this earth because she made each normal word sound heavenly." So far this book is really good as I love books with intense description and food

I think Goosefeather just wants attention as the other cats don't always believe him. The vole might've been grooming and not finished yet. I think Goosefeather might be making the 'prophecy' up as when some of the cats asked why? all he said was I don't know. I think the prophecy is a fake because the Windclan cats were hunting in Thunderclan territory so they must not have enough food, and no food means bad health.

I now agree with Bluekit. For when she said, "Let's explore by ourselves," I literally felt my heart leap. I love to explore anything new and don't like when others show me around as it is less exciting. Also when Bluekit sneaked around camp I longed to be outside sneaking around because the details in the book are so good. The author makes me want to be doing what the characters are doing and that helps me connect.

I think this line, "She'll open her eyes in her own time," doesn't only mean about cats opening their eyes later than humans, but shows how Bluekit is different from the other cats as they already opened their eyes. I also think the line has something to do with how she is patient, as her response (in her head) was, "Yes, in my own time." I am not like Bluekit because I am not patient and very giddy about new things.

I really like how the book is filled with flashbacks. I like how the author added a flashback every few pages, each of the flashbacks tie in really well to what was happening at that time in the book. Another thing the author does is that each of the flashbacks go in order not random times. I like the flashback "Our story beguns in a deep wooden thicket." This flashback tied in with the characters likes and dislikes.

I think Jem is saying HAHAHA in her head as she had been camping with Spider (for the first time in her life) for the past 2 days. I wonder why Jem didn't mutter a curse word. n the beginning of the story, whenever she was annoyed she would yell "Beep------" I think she has developed as a charcter when she experienced doing something she didn't like with a friend.

I predict that Jem will see Spider again because then the whole story wouldn't have a meaning. However part of me feels like Spider and Jem are going to see eachother and Jem would try to stop Spider dieing and fail. I think this because when a person dies, you can't really stop it.

I like how the author used metaphors to show how frightened Jem was. I would've been the same, sleeping over at a house with a policeman when you wrer on the run. If I was Jem I wouldn't trust Britney I think Britney might be a daddy's girl and turn Jem in

Maybe Rita isn't calling the police because maybe she ran away when she was 17. I think this because she said that she was cooking at her house at 17 that indicates that she might've run away from her home when she was young. I predict that Spider and Jem are going to hide the newspaper but Rita is already going to know. I think she already know's they ran away because she asked them if they wanted to use the phone.

I feel sorry for Sam. He can't stay in his tree anymore. If I were him I might run away again. I wonder where his father is going to work because they don't live in the city anymore I also wonder if building a house is legal. There are hikers passing through making the mountain seem like a national park.

I wonder why Sam has become so brave around people. At the beginning of the story, whenever a person was in the forest, he would hide. But he just walked up to somebody. I'm wondering if he wants to be caught. Also what changed his mind about people? Was it Bando?

I would be so frightend if I was in Sam's situation with all the exploding trees. I wonder why the trees explode lik e that with all the ice on their branches. Maybe because they branches are cracking under the weight.

I could visually see someone in a deer skin outfit walking on the street. I would've stared strangely. I thing Sam wants to be in human company even though he didn't want to be in the book. I think this because he said, 'I kept pretending I was going to the library...but I knew it was closed."

Perfect timing. I read this a couple days after Halloween and the time in the story is now Halloween. Sam has now been on the mountain for 10 months I wouldn't have made it a week. I predict that Sam is going to have a feast of nuts because he just stocked up a humongous pile of acorns and walnuts.

I realized that ever since Bando came and kept Sam company, Sam doesn't spend time with Frightful, The Baron and Jessie Coon James. Even though that Bando kept Sam company, the animals don't spend time with Sam anymore. Part of me wants Bando to stay but part of me want's him to leave.

I would not be able to survive on the mountain long as Sam. I think it shows creativity that he made salt. I shiver with disgustingness (if that's a word) when it said the salt was black and that he ate frog's legs. That sounds disgusting and scary. (I have ranidaphobia)
