i've read this and loved it so it was my choice to experiment with audiobook with. Requires close attention but is beautifully read and just as good as I remembered.

I'm waiting to get caught up in this.
Then I did get caught up in it. Nearly done, and then I left it at home when I travelled to the Rockies. Damn. But I can say that it does get addictive.

almost finished. An effortless book, it seems. The understated rape and its aftereffects are brillliant.

This is exquisite prose describing read horror of instant death of the author's entire family. I am completely drawn in.

I loved this novel, as I have loved the last 4 or 5 by Rose Tremain. She's just such a lively, intelligent, funny, fierce writer.
