And I alredy can't stand it.
The prose is full of cheesy lines and cliches. Weird use of language and strange similes don't help either. The dialogues and situations seem contrived, because the whole thing is so culturally alien to me I cannot suspend disbelief.
"He was a pretty specimen of big man meat."
Kill me now.

Still nothing has actually happened beyond eating and greeting.

Lovely word-building, wonderful alien characters, colourful and well drawn, but... Where is the story?

This book is truly beautiful in its "considerations of love, duty, morality, and the divine".

It's unusual, but I like Piccadilly's lingo.
Little gems like "unfuckgiving world" add to atmosphere. I am stealing this one.

When Lois McMaster Bujold writes a comedy, you'll laugh often and in a completely undignified manner.
This is my kind of humour - intelligent and above board. I love the premise too. Hopefully Miles (the main character in all the previous books) would be there for the showdown. That would be a reverse of the Winterfair Gifts for sure ;)

Phew!Saved, finally.
Not as bad as "Antidote", but the kidnap/torture scenario is wearing on my nerves. Why every really good book in this genre ends up having one of those? Is it a knew cliché, or what? I hope it goes out of vogue soon.

Really good flow and pacing. Difficult to put down even when the authenticity that was remarkable in the beginning has ebbed somewhat with the romance unfolding.

Two main characters met over the very same book I have just bought. I came across quotations from it doing research for my book. Hmm...

I rarely like female MCs. I love this one. She makes me laugh, often, and for good reasons.
