Ray is finished with Blood Lust (Preternaturals, #1)
Interesting, but I have about had it with Vampires & Werewolves being romantic figures. They are supposed to be scary!

Ray is starting Gilded (Gilded, #1)
Interesting, but I didn't like the fact that it was continued. I didn't realize I was getting involved in a series where the books don't stand alone.

Ray is finished with Wicked Charms (Lizzy & Diesel, #3)
I didn't realize this was a series when I began reading it. I just knew that I liked Janet Evanovich's writing. Now I need to find the others in the series.

Patricia Gaffney's tale was intriguing and enjoyable. I liked the convoluted plot and mixed up characters.

This is actually a book of 5 Novellas. The story by J D Robb was entertaining as usual. I love the characters. The story by May Blayney was not quite as entertaining to me.

Ray is finished with Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions
I didn't read any critical discussion of the book. I wanted to explore the ideas myself. Abbott seems to be using a land of 2 dimensions to show the absurdity of some of the English culture of his time; particularly critiquing the culture of the nobility vs working man; the plight of women in his society, especially the fact that women are considered less than men and not worthy of being educated.

Ray is starting Indianapolis: The True Story of the Worst Sea Disaster in U.S. Naval History and the Fifty-Year Fight to Exonerate an Innocent Man
What an intriguing read. As a sailor the worst thing is being washed overboard, but even worse is when you lose the ship and are hoping for rescue. This is the true story of the sinking of the Indianapolis and the story of the survivors.

Ray is starting Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster
Truly engrossing read for me. It was hard to believe that even though some of them realized they wouldn;t get down from the mountain if they continued the ascent, the didn't give up and many lost their lives as a result.

Entertaining read. Of course I have a penchant for the after the apocalypse stories. Not one but 2 Post Apocalyptic Warriors attempt to save the town of New Hope.

Quite an enlightening tale. It is primarily about the trials and tribulations of a half-breed Indian with PTSD after WWII and his problems with being accepted by either the White Man's culture or the Indian culter. He was an outcast from both.

Fascinating read! Sally Fields really gets into her personal feelings about her family, and work. She was quite hard on herself. It felt like she dealt more with the darker aspects of her life than the positivie. Possible a therapeutic book for her.

Excellent! Jane Hawk is one FBI agent to be wary of, even though they have her labeled as a domestic terroritst, she still foils their attempts to capture her and her young son.

Ray is starting The Chase (Fox and O'Hare, #2)
Another series by Janet Evanovich but this time teamed up with Lee Goldberg. She creates a great character in Kate, the ex-special forces, now FBI agent, teamed up with a notorious international criminal to work on tasks when if ever apprehended she would be reported as going rogues. Somewhat of a spin-off of the great spy thrillers of the James Bond era.
