I adore Kena and Callum so far, but the plot is convoluted. What exactly is the conflict here? A solid conflict should be able to complete this sentence: "(Protagonist) wants (goal), but (obstacle) is standing in her way." I'm struggling to fill in those parenthesis. I'll leave a star rating once I finish the book.

The book just pulled the whole goo goo eyed insta-love thing at 8%, so here's hoping I can stomach the rest. Good book up until that point. :(

Smart writing so far. The book may lose my interest soon though, not because it's bad (it's really good!), but because it's slipping into high fantasy now and that's just not my favorite genre. We'll see though. I'll keep reading and see if I can stick with it.
