Not really enjoying this as much as her first book. There's a certain smugness in this one - she's now One Of Them, and it shows.

This one is a bit slower going for me than the Rules series and I really dislike the hero so far. I am sticking with it but I hope the hero turns into a better guy soon.

Lurid, fascinating, beautifully written. Plump's elegant writing has so far made up for the fact that I feel nil sympathy for her.

So far, this one is a winner. Such a pleasure to read a well done historical romance. I hope it holds up to the end.

This book is agony to read. It is so partisan, has spelling errors, and is focused more on trying to make journalism seem noble than actually telling the story. I'm about ready to DNF this one.

Reading this a form of torture. It's so bloody awful. Yet I keep hoping for it to get better.

This is absolutely the most boring book I can imagine about such a fascinating, lurid subject. It's also crammed full of unnecessary political commentary. I have a feeling it will be DNF before long.

Already there are such lurid allegations against the duchess that I'm doubting the veracity of the book. Entertaining but ... I'm skeptical.
